Gasten zien prachtig gerestaureerd meubilair en decor in het huis van de W.L. Moody, Jr. Moody bouwde een fortuin op in zo'n 50 entiteiten, waaronder verzekeringen, banken, hotels, kranten, katoen, spoorwegen, veeteelt en andere. Op het moment van zijn overlijden behoorde hij tot de tien rijkste mensen van Amerika. Hij richtte de Moody Foundation op en zijn dochter richtte de Mary Moody Northen Endowment op, liefdadigheidsstichtingen die tegenwoordig milieu-, educatieve, sociale dienstverlening en historische projecten ondersteunen.

Allow 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Excellent audio tour. We went early when it wasn’t crowded. Beautiful home with beautiful furnishings. I recommend this tour

Great tour guides !! Very very knowledgeable about the history that comes with the beautiful home, which makes it feel more personal when walking through the rooms. My mom and I enjoyed our experience & will be back to tour the other mansions! We went early on Sunday so there wasn’t many people touring the house yet, while we were walking out there was a lot more people coming in so I would recommend getting there early if you want it to feel more personal and quite. Also recommend bringing ear phones for the audio tour! (:
So much history, and it’s beautiful. I took teenager girls they were amazed at the beauty. The elevator was a fun experience for me, but it worked perfect. Galveston is full of history!
If you visit Galveston, you should put this tour on your list to see. It is a beautiful place. Lots of history in this home. I have been to Galveston several times in my life and finally got the chance to see it. So glad I did. Well worth it.
Moody mansion was incredible and the docents there were amazing. The only problem was - we weren’t told about the optional access to additional parts of the mansion. All it would have cost was $5 and we could have seen it all. Other than that it is highly recommended. Beautiful historic property. Well presented. Immaculate. Very professional.
The self guided tour was excellent. The mansion and the Moody family are very interesting. Very enjoyable

The mansion tour was very enjoyable. A beautiful home and fascinating history. The staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions. Be aware that there is no place to sit or rest in any room—which may be a deterrent for the elderly. Also, bring ear buds so you can hear the audio guide, as none were provided. The tour only takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience!
The house was beautiful The people were sweet and nice I took my time and I read through everything and I did it on my own or you can go with them or they have a video audio tour that you can do it was really nice
