Tijdens deze dagtrip in Kolkata bezoeken we het huis van Moeder Teresa, de Sint-Pauluskathedraal, de eerste Episcopale Kerk van de oosterse wereld, de Sint-Andrieskerk, de enige Schotse kerk in Kolkata en de begraafplaats South Park, een stukje geschiedenis in steen. Dit is een volledig begeleide tour waarbij we zorgen voor ophalen, droppen, lunchen en alle entreegelden.

8 uur St Andrews Church Onze eerste bestemming is de St Andrew's Church, die ook bekend staat als de Kirk. Voltooid in 1818 is het de enige Schotse kerk in Kolkata. Ontworpen door M / s Burn, Currie & Co. de toren was hoger dan die van de toenmalige Anglicaanse kathedraal van de St. John's Church in Calcutta. Bisschop Middleton was hier erg geïrriteerd over. Onze gids zal meer uitleggen over de controverse met betrekking tot de torenspits die vele veren verstoorde!
St Paul's Kathedraal We bezoeken de eerste bisschoppelijke kerk van de oosterse wereld, St Paul's Cathedral. Het duurde 8 jaar om dit meesterwerk te bouwen. Bisschop Wilson wijdde de St. Paul's Cathedral in op 8 oktober 1847. Gast zal een sterke gelijkenis vinden met de beroemde kathedraal van Norwich, vooral met zijn gotische gebrandschilderde ramen en fresco's in Florentijnse renaissancestijl. We zullen sculpturen zien en zoals de "Bisschoppentroon" en een versierde muur - Reredo, gebeeldhouwd met incidenten uit het leven van St. Paul.
South Park Cemetery South Park Cemetery was de grootste christelijke begraafplaats buiten Europa en Amerika in de 19e eeuw. Deze 8-acre necropolis heeft 1900 graven van vooraanstaande Britse burgers en hoge functionarissen van de Oost-Indische Compagnie. Een van de beter onderhouden graven is die van Sir William Jones, die in 1783 voor het eerst naar India kwam als een Supreme Court Judge, later de Asiatic Society stichtte en belangrijke Sanskrit geschriften zoals de Bhagwad Gita in het Engels vertaalde.
Vrede en kalmte in Mother's House We bezoeken Mother's House, de voormalige residentie van Moeder Teresa die haar hele leven had gewijd aan de zorg voor de kansarmen. Dit gebouw is ook het hoofdkwartier van de Missionaries of Charity, de organisatie die is opgericht door Moeder Teresa. We zullen de zusters van Missionaries of Charity aan het werk zien voor de verheffing van de kansarmen, een museum bezoeken met de eigendommen van Moeder Teresa en ons respect betuigen bij het graf van onze Engel van Genade. 3 PM- Ga terug naar het hotel na de lunch

We had a great day mastered by our good guide Sauvik, who had a nice and caring attitude in the - for us - extremely hot weather. We got a little modified tour as he asked us if we would like to see e.g. the Schottish cemetery, etc, and everything was orchestrated in he’s liozand iconic yellow Tata z Nano .@ Best regards and best wishes with your “Nano tours”. A splendid tour combining the history and beauty of several churches with a visit to the Mother Teresa House of the Missionaries Of Charity. My guide Prasenjit was knowledgeable and excellent company. I'm very happy to recommend this tour.
I had booked the Mother Teresa and Churches tour from Kolkata on TripAdvisor. It was an amazing experience. The tranquility at Mother's house is quite moving. Besides, St Paul's cathedral and St Andrew's Church were spectacular. This is a great way to understand Kolkata's rich heritage and past.
Today I was fortunate to get my host Anirban again for my tour of Mother Theresa's house and missionaries of Charity along with other sights. The St Andrew's Church, St Paul's Cathedral, and my favorite the South Park cemetery. Just a delightful day with a delicious thali lunch and thoughtful as well as amusing commentary by Anirban. Traveling alone at 60 the tour guides have been so essential to making this a magical trip to Kolkata!!
Bratati my tour guide was the best I could ask for she always had a smile on her face, knowledgeable and patient. She also knew various people who allowed us to enter various sites. The transport (private car) was comfortable and had air condition. The highlight of my tour was visiting the House of Mother Theresa. It is a peaceful and spiritual place right in the heart of Kolkata. Thanks Bratati for showing me your town the only thing I would change is perhaps not visit the artisans & pottery otherwise the tour was good.
