Het bezoek aan Frantoio Rosso Ipogeo geeft het gevoel een reis in de tijd te maken: van het begin toen Puglia werd ondergedompeld door de zee tot aan de vorige eeuw, toen olijfolie werd geproduceerd. De route begint met het observeren van de fossielen van de zee in de kalksteen, en gaat door de late middeleeuwse eeuwen toen brandende olie in Europa werd geproduceerd en geëxporteerd. We zullen de productiefasen en de apparatuur die in die tijd werden gebruikt omvatten, om vervolgens te concluderen met de laatste periode van Frantoio, toen de productie van lucerne en lampantolie werd omgezet in voedselolie.

Very, very small. Guided tour with headphones in 10 minutes. There were some nice pictures and a person. A good picture of how things used to go.
So much more than we expected! We appreciated the owner's hard work and research to restore this underground oil mill into a museum. We especially enjoyed his passion for sharing the history with others. The olive oil tasting experience was educational and so delicious!
Great little tour and olive oil tasting at the end. The owner has great passion for olive oil and the making of it. If we were staying longer we would have gone to one of the evenings music events. Nice small tour size.
A beautiful way to bring back to life an old underground crusher. Let yourself be transported by the words of Giuseppe and Samantha in a hidden world that smells of truth and sacrifice and the final tasting teaches us to understand and recognize the different characteristics of 'oil. An immersive experience not to be missed. Thank you. It was a pleasure.
The tour was booked in German, the guide speaks only English. and Italian. He was trying very hard but unfortunately not what we had booked
