Welkom op het "Escorial van Oostenrijk"! We verkennen deze monumentale 900 jaar oude abdij, die ook het oudste wijndomein van Oostenrijk is. Wandel door de adembenemende Imperial Apartments, bewonder de spectaculaire kloosterkerk en ontdek de legendarische wijnkelders met meerdere verdiepingen. Deze erfgoedrijke abdij herbergt deze kostbare schatten nog steeds. Eén van de opmerkelijke artefacten die we te zien krijgen is een 14e-eeuwse hertogelijke hoed, een stukje geschiedenis dat een fascinerende blik in het verleden biedt.
We reizen dieper in de mystieke, weelderige landschappen van het Weense Woud. Voordat u onze volgende historische site verkent, is het tijd om uw smaakpapillen te trakteren! We stoppen bij een traditionele kloostertaverne (Klostergasthof) of een gezellige lokale wijntaverne. Geniet van authentieke Oostenrijkse gerechten en geniet van een proeverij van uitstekende lokale wijnen. Dankzij uw privéchauffeur kunt u onbezorgd nippen en ontspannen terwijl u geniet van het uitzicht op het bos!
Na een ontspannen en heerlijke lunch stappen we het oudste continu bezette cisterciënzerklooster ter wereld binnen. Ervaar de diepe spirituele rust van deze plek terwijl we door de prachtig bewaard gebleven Romaanse en gotische kloosters wandelen en de middeleeuwse architectuur bewonderen, ver weg van het stadslawaai.
Ons laatste hoogtepunt is de elegante Biedermeier stad Baden, een beroemde keizerlijke kuuroord resort en een UNESCO World Heritage site. Wandel door de pittoreske voetgangersstraten, zie waar Beethoven delen van zijn 9e Symfonie componeerde en bewonder het prachtige Casinogebouw en Kurpark.
Na een mooie dag vol geschiedenis, natuur en wijn, kunt u heerlijk ontspannen. Uw chauffeur navigeert veilig over de wegen terug naar Wenen en zet u af bij uw hoteldeur.

This was one of three tours that my 15-year-old son and I took with Cozy Travel while we stayed in Vienna. I scheduled the tours about six months in advance and was in constant contact with Jenny before the tours. Jenny happily answered any questions (which were a lot-LOL) I had over the six months and responded in perfect English. While her husband, Vladimer safely drove us to each location in their comfortable car, Jenny would provide background on the areas that we drove by (and would let us rest when needed!). Jenny also provided her vast expertise during the tours at the actual locations. My son and I felt safe with Jenny and Vlad, in addition to enjoying their expertise and companionship during the tours. First was a short drive to Klosterneuberg Monastery. Inside the church is beautiful with elaborate designs. The items in the treasury are fascinating, and Jenny was able to provide the history on everything we saw. Next, we went to the Heiligenkreuz Abbey. This church is also beautifully designed. The inner halls of the monastery courtyard are peaceful with stunning architecture. I actually had one of the best meals while in Austria at the restaurant located on the grounds. Finally, we went to the charming town of Baden. This is a peaceful town with gorgeous views atop the hill and in the town center. We went to a lovely heuriger (wine tavern) and sampled the most delicious Viennese wines. I would highly recommend this tour for a peaceful, relaxing escape from Vienna for the day.
