Dit is het enige olijfolieproeverijprogramma op het eiland onder leiding van een wereldberoemde olijfolie-expert. Anita Zachou bedacht en implementeerde olijfolieproeverijen op Mykonos sinds 2019, toen iedereen dacht dat ze gek was. Nu kopiëren ze haar zonder enige expertise en kwaliteit van dienstverlening. Tijdens deze ervaring geniet je van een workshop olijfolie proeven met uitzicht op het heilige eiland Delos. Na de proeverij kun je blijven zwemmen op het prachtige strand van Agios Ioannis (neem zwemkleding mee!) en lunchen in het restaurant. A wonderful experience. You will learn more about olive oil in one hour than you have learned in your lifetime. You will leave being able to identify real EVOO from what’s in most grocery stores (spoiler alert - don’t trust the labels if you live in the US). Anita is a knowledgeable and engaging instructor, full of fascinating facts and insights. A fantastic way to bring a bit of Greece home with you.
Write a good headline for this review: My husband and I signed up for Anita Zachou’s 2-hour olive oil tasting seminar. I could focus this review on how beautifully she presented us with 8 olive oils for tasting. Or, I could talk about her informative and personalized presentation. I could even spend this whole review describing her passion and phd-level knowledge. However, I want to speak about how she permanently changed my perspective on olive oil: how to buy it, how to use it, and how to tell definitely of it is truly extra virgin olive oil. It is something so different to experience on Mykonos. My biggest takeaway you ask? All the olive oil I have been using at home is rancid. I thought that that was the natural smell of olive oil—it is not, my friend! Anita holds her seminar in Pili Beach restaurant and it is a beautiful setting. I highly recommend this!

This is one of the best experiences me and my friend had during our stay in Mykonos! Anita is such an intelligent and kind individual it would be impossible not to enjoy your time with her. We had no experience with olive oil tasting and left this 2 hour experience with more knowledge than we could have hoped for. It is clear that Anita has a serious passion for what she does and it is incredibly contagious, I will never look at EVOO the same way (thankfully!). Beyond blessed to meet Anita and experience this wonderful course! If you have the time you should definitely try this amazing experience!

A phenomenal experience teaching us all about olive oil. Something many people take for granted in the kitchen but through this program, we found a new appreciation for it. You will never look at olive oil the same again! Anita is a wonderful teacher and kept us very engaged with selections of olive oils and food pairings. A must-do in the island!

We knew when we were going to Greece we had to do an Olive Oil tasting. This was the perfect one in Mykonos! Loved that this was a private table at a very nice restaurant on the beach, so the view was very nice. I like that it was a small and intimate group where we got to work with Anita one on one directly. She is SO knowledgeable and passionate about Olive Oil and how it is being miss-marketed by distributors and makers. She really taught you how to nose and taste proper Extra Virgin Olive Oil while informing you on how good for you it is to have! It's upsetting to know that people are making it wrong and putting labels on things, but hopefully now that we did this tasting we wont be fooled! Would absolutely recommend this experience, plus, it was awesome that she paired it with everyday food items and you really taste the difference!
