De Nazaré-kloof, een natuurlijke formatie die vlak naast de kustlijn een enorm diep en groot gat in de zeebodem maakt, creëert enorme golven die deze plek, Praia do Norte, tot een Meca maken voor avontuurlijke surfers over de hele wereld. De kloof verbergt ook een nazi-onderzeeër, die daar met opzet tot zinken is gebracht om nooit meer te worden gevonden... We zullen ook het Heiligdom en de Geheugenkapel bezoeken en een adembenemend uitzicht hebben over Nazaré en een groot deel van de kust van de Zilverkust (helemaal tot aan de Berlengas-eilanden). Last but zeker not least maak je ook kennis met Nazaré zelf, een uniek traditioneel vissersdorpje, zijn smalle steegjes met uitzicht op zee, en zijn oude tradities zoals de “Droge Vis” en de raadselachtige “bezienswaardigheden 'van lokale vrouwen die hun beroemde zeven rokken droegen.

We had a great time on this private Tour of Nazare. Our tour guide, João Pedro gave us a great background of the history of this charming seaside fishing town which is now world famous for its huge waves in the winter. We visited many of the sites in the city ending at the famous lighthouse overlooking the huge surf beach. We highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting this beach city.
