Marangu-route: Bekend als de "Coca-Cola" -route, is de Marangu-route een klassieke trektocht op de Kilimanjaro. Het is de oudste, meest bekende route. Velen geven de voorkeur aan de Marangu-route, omdat deze als het gemakkelijkste pad op de berg wordt beschouwd, gezien de geleidelijke helling. Het is ook de enige route die slaaphutten biedt in accommodaties in slaapzalen. De minimaal vereiste dagen voor deze route zijn vijf, hoewel de kans om in die periode met succes de top te bereiken vrij laag is. Een extra acclimatisatiedag op de berg is een echte aanrader bij het beklimmen van Klimanjaro via de Marangu-route. Ondanks zijn immense populariteit vermijden we echter toonaangevende beklimmingen op de Marangu-route. De route heeft de minst schilderachtige variëteit van alle routes omdat de beklimming en afdaling op hetzelfde pad plaatsvinden en daarom de drukste route is. Marangu heeft alleen de voorkeur tijdens het regenseizoen, waar de hutaccommodaties de voorkeur hebben.

I was second year university student when I decided to save money to climb #Kilimanjaro after I graduate, and here today share some of my favorite moments. Kilimanjaro it’s not a part of a chain like the Himalayas, its hanging out all alone, in the middle of Africa. It stands 19.341 FT / 5,985 M above sea level. I experienced all sorts of climates from the first day as we hiked up to the top. During the first two days rocked pens and a T- shirts as we hiked through rainforest like areas, by day three I’d switched to a long sleeve shirt due to colder mornings, but as you’ll see in the future (I know you’re going to hike too…kidding) by the time I hate the summit I had on so many layers I couldn’t put my arms down. I celebrated my success and my graduation in the highest free standing mountain in the world, such feeling lives with me up to today, surely I will go back there for Safari and culture tour in the coming days.
