Beleef een ronde ervaring in Varanasi. 3-daagse tour

Our guide was Rahul Pandey who met us at our hotel on our first day which included the cremations by the Ganges. It was an awesome experience with lots of walking and stairs. The car was a bit banged up and we kept the same car and driver. There was no airport pickup or drop off included in the package. The second day we were told to meet in the lobby at 5am for the sunrise over the Ganges. The driver came without Rahul 45 minutes late. Rahul met us at the ceremony, but it had already begun. We went back to the hotel after the ceremony and were picked up later for the Durga Temple and the evening ceremony. The third day was shorter and included a great Ganges Boat Ride. We were ready to leave early, but it took awhile to find Rahul after the ceremony and then it took a long time and lots of walking before the driver picked us up. We had extra days in Varanasi, so we arranged a different tour directly with Rahul and not Viator, payment had to be in cash. The location was a ways out of the city and we were charged $200 for the driver plus a fee for Rahul. The driver and vehicle were different, but we stopped at least 6 times for LG gas and we had to get out of the car each time, which added to an already long day. Rahul as a Varanasi native has a true love for the city and knows it well. It could have been a 5 star tour if it wasn’t for the driver and car issues. This was the only tour that we found that was for more than just one day. Rahul truly has a love for Varanasi!

He took us to see how the beautiful silks are made and to a spices and aromatherapy oils shop which was a delight. I cannot tell you how much having Rahul as our guide helped make our Varanasi experience so fantastic. I loved every minute of my 3 days here. We met Rahul by chance and we did not regret trusting him. We took the 3 day package. Thanks to him we discovered Varanasi even better than we expected. He explained his city with passion and took us to places we would never have been to if we were alone.
