Beirut Downtown: het plein van Martyr in het centrum herbergt een monument voor de martelaren van de burgeroorlog, toen het land werd verwoest door sektarische gevechten en externe inmenging. Het standbeeld, dat van een jonge man en vrouw naar de hemel reikt, biedt een goede achtergrond voor foto's. Corniche: Gelegen vlak bij het westelijke uiteinde van de Corniche zijn verschillende natuurlijke rotsstructuren / boog bekend als Pigeon Rocks. Je kunt ook een boottocht maken over de rotsformaties en blijkbaar door enkele grotten. I arrived in Beirut in the morning, and after collecting me at the airport and dropping my bag off at the hotel, Fadil took me on a half day tour of Beirut. We walked to some interesting places and Fadil shared some information for each of them as well as history and current situation in Lebanon. Fadil was very flexible in arranging the half day tour on the same day as my arrival to Beirut and this allowed me to squeeze in a city tour in my packed itinerary.
