Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Ophalen bij hotels in het centrum van El Calafate is mogelijk. De aangegeven ophaaltijd (7:30 uur) komt overeen met het begin van de ophaalroute bij het hotel. De daadwerkelijke ophaaltijd kan variëren tussen 7:30 en 8:00 uur, afhankelijk van de locatie van uw hotel. Wacht alstublieft 10 minuten voor uw geplande ophaaltijd in de lobby van het hotel. Ophalen bij privéappartementen of Airbnb-accommodaties is niet mogelijk. In die gevallen wordt een nabijgelegen hotel als ontmoetingspunt aangewezen.

We did the Chalten full day tour, went to the Eagle Lookout and Jumping Squirt with snow. The other trails to the lagoons are closed by snow until October. It was worth taking the winter tour and appreciating the village and the views of Fitz Roy and Torre Hill. The village is quite desolate in winter because people do the season in other ski centers and come back in summer which is the high season of the Chalten for its treking. So it was very quiet the visit and with few people what explodes tourists in summer.

Its 3 hours to get there but worth it with several stops and many explanations of the landscape, anecdotes about the area and more. We were lucky and had a blue sky day so we had straightline views of El Chaltén all the way. El Chaltén and the hikes are outstanding if you love to hike. I just wish we had longer to do the full 10k, we did the shorter 4k. If you are in El Calafate and you have a day to spend, don't skip this.
