Ga mee met deze tour en bezoek twee van de beroemdste attracties van Nieuw-Zeeland, Hobbiton Movie Set en Waitomo Caves, in één gemakkelijke dagtrip vanuit Auckland. Onze tour is de nieuwe uitgebreide Hobbiton Experience (nu 2,5 uur) waar je je voorbij de deur kunt wagen aan een volledig thema Hobbit Hole interieur. Dompel jezelf onder in het interieur met inkomhal, slaapkamers, badkamer, keuken, eethoek, ingerichte badkamer, salon en knisperende open haard. Laat u fascineren door de magische wereld van Hobbiton en maak foto's voor uw favoriete plekken zoals de Hobbit Holes, de Gouw en het Green Dragon pension. Reis vervolgens naar de wereldberoemde Waitomo Glowworm Caves en laat je betoveren door de duizenden magische gloeiwormen die fonkelen in de Grotten, de stalactieten en stalagmieten terwijl je geruisloos per boot door de grot glijdt. Bewonder het prachtige landschap onderweg terwijl we van de snelwegen het echte achterland van Nieuw-Zeeland inrijden. Alle entreegelden en café lunch inbegrepen.

Na Auckland te hebben verlaten, reis je zuidwaarts over de Bombay Hills naarmate je een panoramisch uitzicht hebt over de Waikato regio en je reist over de schilderachtige Hauraki Plains naar Matamata, het huis van Hobbiton Movie Set.
Begin met een tour door de pittoreske schapenboerderij van 1400 hectare met een spectaculair uitzicht over de Kaimai Ranges. Je Gids begeleidt je door de 10 hectare grote site en vertelt fascinerende details over hoe de Hobbiton Movie Set is gemaakt. Hobbit Holes, The Green Dragon Pension, The Mill en andere bouwwerken zijn te bezichtigen en je zult zien hoe dit prachtige stukje Waikato landbouwgrond werd omgetoverd tot de Gouw uit Midden-aarde. Bezoek en verken het nieuw gebouwde Hobbit Hole op Bagshot Row. Gratis speciaal gebrouwen drankjes zijn verkrijgbaar bij het Green Dragon pension als u uw tour afsluit. Geniet daarna van een zeer klassieke lichte “Kiwi”-stijl lunch in de “Homestead” en krijg de kans om verhalen van Hobbiton te delen en te communiceren met je medereizigers.
Je reist dan naar de betoverende Waitomo Glowworm-grotten. Laat je verrassen door de duizenden magische glimwormen terwijl je stil over de boot glijd in de wereldberoemde grotten van Waitomo Glowworm. Je gids voor deze 45 minuten durende tour zal waarschijnlijk een afstammeling zijn van de Maori Chief die oorspronkelijk de grotten heeft verkend en de opmerkelijke geschiedenis van het gebied met je kan delen. Loop door de majestueuze Cathedral Cave die bekend staat om zijn akoestiek Je terugreis naar Auckland neemt je vervolgens eerst door een deel van het mooiste landschap van Nieuw-Zeeland voordat je noordwaarts de majestueuze Waikato-rivier, de langste rivier in Nieuw-Zeeland, een deel van de weg terug naar Auckland, volgt. Je passeert Ngaruawahia, het huis van de Maori-koning; Taupiri met zijn zeer heilige begraafplaats van de Maori. Om die dag te voltooien, wordt u teruggebracht naar uw hotel in het CBD van Auckland.

Onze Tour begint om 6.30 uur richting het zuiden met iedereen al opgepikt over de Auckland CBD en aan boord. De pickups, afhankelijk van de locatie in de CBD van waar je verblijft, vinden plaats in de voorafgaande 20 - 25 minuten. We halen op bij alle centraal gelegen Auckland Hotels, BNB's, Backpacker Hotels in het Central Business District. Een van de volgende of andere (niet vermeld) in het Central Business District. We halen niet op uit de buitenwijken van Auckland We hebben ook slechts 1 pick-up locatie in South Auckland / Auckland Airport gebied dat is het Sebel Manukau Hotel, 16 Lakewood Court, Manukau (ongeveer 10 minuten van de luchthaven) t. Ophalen alleen daar is om 6.45 uur. My favorite part of the country. I really enjoyed Hobbiton
Auckland scenic tours were great! They picked us up from our hotel and dropped us back at the end of the day, almost a full 12 hour day. Tour bus was clean and full with 15 people, and our driver Mike was really lovely and very knowledgeable about Auckland, telling us facts throughout the drives. Tour guides took over when we got to each place, and the tours were wonderful! Highly recommend for anyone!
What a great adventure through Northern New Zealand to see the well-cared for Hobbiton movie set and the stunning Waitimo caves! Our guide, Tracey had many informative details about the region as well as amusing stories to share on our day together.
Great experience and very informative, we had time to take tons of pictures, lunch was good. Weather was a little bit cool, but it was nice.
The Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves experience was the highlight of our time in Auckland. It was a perfectly organised day thanks to our talented, knowledgeable, and friendly guide Rachel. It was incredible to not need to worry about logistics and be looked after and entertained all day. The additional history and stories that Rachel shared on our journey to Hobbiton and the Waitomo Caves heightened the excitement and made our visits even more magical. Rachel also did a fantastic job of introducing and caring for our tour group, which created a jolly sense of camaraderie all day. The journey was well paced, and the provided lunch stop was filling for me. I also appreciated the mini break we took in the morning for coffee, and the home stretch break for ice cream. Thanks again Rachel for a top-notch day.

Be ready for the early morning pickup! Timely manner for the tours and food breaks really helps make a smooth day for everyone.

We leave as there is only 1 road south out of Auckland and we must beat the early morning peak hour traffic going south out of Auckland as what should take only 30 minutes to leave greater Auckland can otherwise take 2-3 times that and then the risk is missing our tour times. Tracy (GT!) was absolutely amazing. I was not just entertained but thoroughly educated about so many interesting and relevant things. Kiwi music and traditions. Crazy ice cream flavors. And if course about Hobbiton and countless things along the way. She went out of her way to make our group’s trip delightful. I also appreciated the information she prepared on cards for touring NZ. I even quite liked her cow trivia lol. I’ve had many tour guides in 2 weeks from Australia to New Zealand and Tracy was my very favorite!

This was an amazing experience if you like the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies and if you enjoy a quiet, beautiful experience which the glow worm caves delivered in spades. My driver was Mike and he was an extremely nice and out going guy. The drive to and from was a LOT longer than I thought and made me glad I booked a tour over saving a small bit of money by renting a car. Make sure you book ahead as this tour can fill up fast.
It was our privilege hosting you on our magical and enchanting tour to Middle Earth and beyond. You cannot avoid the travel as you experienced as the attractions are 2 hours south of Auckland, but we mitigate that but the specially and exclusively designed route that we travel which we see as a 3rd attraction. For most of the day, we get off the motorways and on to the quaint country roads with its stunning and ever changing landscapes, where you can see the real New Zealand.
