We vertellen het verhaal van de Basilica di San Nicola, een authentiek meesterwerk van de Apulisch-Romaanse stijl, een historisch en spiritueel symbool van de stad Bari, van binnen en van buiten.
We wandelen langs de oude stadsmuren, een van de meest suggestieve en schilderachtige plekken in Bari Vecchia, waar geschiedenis en uitzicht op zee elkaar ontmoeten.
Voor de kathedraal van San Sabino worden we betoverd door de lichtgevende gevel en het gebeeldhouwde roosvenster, een stenen meesterwerk dat eeuwen geschiedenis vertelt.
We bereiken het majestueuze Zwabische kasteel, een duizend jaar oud fort met verhalen over keizers, koninginnen en oude veldslagen, dat stilletjes uitkijkt over de oude stad.

Free tour of Bari, the old city was excellent Michele loves his city and is very knowledgeable about its history, both ancient and 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. He was kind and very informative. We will be taking additional tours through him.

Upon arrival, we greeted the tour guide. The tour guide made a face at us and didn’t say hello or good morning. He was supremely unkind and unwelcoming. This was a lousy start to the tour. The tour guide then proceeded to castigate us for making two reservations and joining as a group of seven. He angrily told us that we were violating tour policy. The tour guide was bitter, petty, and his demanor/presentation was distasteful and offputting. He began his presentation complaining that he was stuck with us for two hours. Furthermore, the content of his presentation was dull and uninteresting. We have been on free walking tours all over the world, and this was by far the worst experience we ever had. Naturally, we left the tour early. The tour guide, Michele, did not deserve our business nor does he deserve yours! (P.S. Shamaney!)
