Ervaar Bari like a local en stroll in the "via delle Orecchiette" where the sweet old women delight tourists with the preparation of one of the symbols of gastronomic Puglia. Bezoek de ancient oven located in a 13th-century Byzantijnse chapel, en proef de beste focaccia in de stad. Onze tour begint vanaf Piazza del Ferrarese, aan het begin van het historische centrum. Je gids wacht op je bij de toegangsdeur van de Spazio Murat - tentoonstellingsruimte. Laat de tour beginnen!
Tijdens deze fase van de tour bezoeken we de beroemde basiliek van San Nicola en proeven we de typische Bari-focaccia in een van de oudste bakkerijen van de stad. Focaccia uit Bari is een typisch Apulisch gerecht, waar je warm van kunt genieten en in elk stuk kunt genieten. De klassieke versie is met kerstomaatjes en olijven!
Wandelen we door de steegjes van het centrum, we passeren voor de majestueuze kathedraal van Bari. We gaan verder in een lokale salumerie, waar u kunt proeven van een selectie van typische salumi en kaas, vergezeld van een glas lokale wijn.
De heerlijke en kruipende stukjes fritte polenta zijn de typische street food die je kunt eten tijdens een wandeling door de wijken van Bari, samen met de frite popizze (fritte frittelle van levitata pasta), een "must" voor de Barese keuken. Kort daarna proeven we de typische barese panzerotto.
Als je het echte Bari wilt leren kennen, mag een bezoek aan de Via dell'Arco Basso, beter bekend als Via delle Orecchiette, niet ontbreken.
Onze tour eindigt met een uitstekend en vers ijsje waarvan je kunt genieten in de warme straten van de stad.

The walking tour of Old Town Bari was very informative and interesting. Our tour guide Barbara was extremely knowledgeable. She was kind, answered questions, inquired about the tourists' backgrounds, etc. I truly learned valuable information about Bari specifically and Puglia in general. I have been sharing the information I learned with family, friends and colleagues since I returned to America. I continued on with Barbara after the historical tour of Old Town, with the food tour, which was very delicious and filling!

Wonderful walking tour with Dorothea. We were a little late but all went well. Dorothea’s knowledge of the food and Bari itself was fantastic. We were caught in a thunderstorm however we continued on.

Lovely walking tour with Eugenio. He definitely had a wealth of knowledge about the town and the history and all the church’s and buildings. Food was nice. Unfortunately the focaccia place was closed but otherwise all other places planned were open.

Our food walking tour of Bari was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Italy! From the moment we met our guide Alessio, we knew we were in for something special. He was warm, knowledgeable, and full of local charm. Alessio didn’t just show us the city—he made us feel the heart and soul of Bari. We wandered through charming old streets, met local artisans, and tasted an incredible variety of authentic foods—from freshly made orecchiette pasta to focaccia that was out of this world. Informative, casual, friendly experience with lovely guide. Tour was not in same order advertised, but it did not take away from the experience or charming old town experience. A great way to learn about the city of Bari from a local!

HIGHLY recommend taking this tour! We were on the fence about doing the tour initially, but so glad we did as we could not have eaten like this alone! Definitely go hungry as the tour gets you a TON of food. Also another perk of the tour is you get to skip the line at popular spots :) I recommend the tour to anyone who wants to get to know the pulse of the city better and try excellent street food.
Enza was a delightful and knowledgeable tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed her , however, we were very disappointed in the food portion of the tour. I have taken several of these tours in various cities in Europe, and we have sampled different regional tidbits of food that were all very different. In this tour, we had a piece of delicious focaccia, a piece of calzone and some gelato. All very good, but not the type of tour we expected. I would suggest more variety in this tour
