Verken Bari in alle comfort aan boord van een riksja en ontdek pittoreske verborgen hoekjes, levendige straatjes en de authentieke sfeer van de oude stad met een Expert lokale Gids. Glijd door Bari Vecchia terwijl je lokale tradities, verhalen en charmante plekken ontdekt die vaak worden gemist door gewone rondleidingen. Deze ervaring combineert cultuur, folklore en gastronomie in een unieke reis door de smaken van Puglia. Langs de route kunt u genieten van proeverijen van typische lokale producten die zorgvuldig zijn geselecteerd op basis van seizoen en beschikbaarheid, waaronder Bari-stijl focaccia, lokaal vlees en ambachtelijke kazen of de beroemde Spaghetti all'Assassina, vergezeld van een glas lokale rode wijn. De tour gaat verder met een vers gebakken panzerotto en eindigt met een zoete noot met zelfgemaakte ambachtelijke gelato.

Piazza Ferrarese is altijd een van de toegangspunten geweest tot de oude stad, die zich met zijn smalle straatjes, steegjes en kleine openingen uitstrekt van Piazza Ferrarese - Piazza Mercantile tot aan het kasteel Normanno -Svevo.
De Sint-Niklaasbasiliek is een belangrijke bedevaartsoord voor zowel rooms-katholieken als orthodoxe christenen en een van de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden
De kathedraal is de zetel van de aartsbisschop van Bari-Bitonto, gewijd aan Sint Sabinus, een bisschop van Canosa, wiens relikwieën hier in de 9e eeuw naartoe werden gebracht. Hier zult u de ondergrondse Romeinse muren genaamd Succorpo waarderen.
In het Normandische Swebian-kasteel wordt de collectie gipsafgietsels bewaard en tijdelijke kunsttentoonstellingen.
Het plein heeft altijd het hart van de commerciële en administratieve activiteiten in de stad vertegenwoordigd vanwege de aanwezigheid van de stadsmarkt (momenteel niet in dit gebied) en van het palazzo Sedile, het historische referentiepunt van het stadhuis van Bari. Tegenwoordig is het voor de inwoners van Bari een onvervangbaar ontmoetingspunt.

This tour ended up being so much more than we expected it to be. Our guide Giancarlo really brought Bari to life with his details of the history as we moved from Bari Vecchio to “new town” and back. He pointed out small details that the average tourist would absolutely miss if not on a tour like this! His presentation was so interesting (not dry) that it makes you curious enough to go back and do some reading about Bari’s past. The rickshaw was perfect for this experience as we were able to cover so much more ground than those doing the food tours on foot. There would be no way that we could have seen everything that we did in one tour. The food choices were perfect! They were all classically symbolic of Bari, and so delicious. One of the best parts is that as a guide, Giancarlo was able to “skip the line”, so no waiting for our samples! I say “samples”, but honestly the portions were near full size. The one stop I know WAS full size, and my husband and I decided to split one as it was just too much food. Even the gelato was a huge portion! For us, this was a perfect tour. The guide, the food, the presentation of the history of Bari…we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Money well spent!
Dorothea our guide and the person who pedalled us around Bari was excellent. She was a wealth of knowledge and it was so much better to go around rather than walk all over town in the very very hot sun thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
