Ervaar Bari als een local tijdens onze Street Food Tour, ontdek authentieke smaken en verhalen terwijl je de culinaire pareltjes van de stad verkent met een lokale Gids. Onze tour begint vanaf Piazza dell'Odegitria, in Bari Vecchia, het historische centrum van de stad. Uw lokale Expert wacht op u bij de palmen in de buurt van de voordeur van de kathedraal. Laten we de tour beginnen!
Als we langs de Kathedraal van San Sabino lopen, genieten we van onze eerste proeverij: focaccia barese, Bari’s meest iconische streetfood. Vers gebakken, knapperig van buiten en zacht van binnen, gegarneerd met kerstomaatjes en olijven en perfect vertegenwoordigd de eenvoudige, smaakvolle keuken van de stad.
Verder door de historische straatjes en langs het Museo Civico di Bari, stoppen we voor een warme, vers gemaakte panzerotto. Gouden en bubbelend, met een klassieke tomaten- en mozzarellavulling, is deze geliefde snack een waar symbool van Bari's dagelijkse eetcultuur.
Wandelend langs de Corso Vittorio Emanuele proeven we een authentieke octopus sandwich. Bereid volgens de lokale traditie, biedt het een gedurfde smaak van de zee en weerspiegelt Bari's sterke band met de Adriatische Zee en zijn visserij-erfgoed.
In de buurt van het Normandisch-Zwabische kasteel sluiten we de tour af met een heerlijk ambachtelijk ijs, de perfecte verfrissende traktatie om van te genieten terwijl we door de warme straten dwalen en onze culinaire reis door Bari tot een zoet einde brengen.

There is great street food and a fascinating history in Bari. The ultimate street food tour combines these aspects very well. Nicholas was an excellent tour guide. He is from Bari and therefore could provide personal experiences and anecdotes. He struck a great balance between some historic background, facts about the food and fun anecdotes. Additional to the great tour Nicholas provided a list of recommendations that fills days in Bari and ensures that one gets the most out of Bari's rich culinary offer. Therefore we would recommend doing the tour as early in your holiday as possible.
We had a great tour with Licia. The food was really good and the portions were just right; enough that we were full by the end and had no need for dinner afterwards, but not so much that we were uncomfortable. Everything was delicious - with the octopus sandwich being a standout. Licia was very friendly, had a great sense of humor, and spoke English very well. We've been on a lot of food tours in many cities, and this was among our favorites. Highly recommended.

We didn’t have the best experience on this tour. We waited around 2 hours before we got our first bite and missed some promised stops on the tour. We’ve taken food tours around the world so we have a general idea of how they work (guide tells restaurant number of people ahead of time). We ended up waiting outside almost every restaurant for ~45 min and didn’t have our first bite of food until almost 9 pm (tour started 6:30). Pasta Nonnas had already packed up for the night by the time we made it to their spot, around 10pm. Disappointing and spent a lot of time waiting around, hungry.
Nicholas was amazing. He took us to the restaurants frequented by residents for dishes that Bari is known for. He is from Bari and will share all that he knows. You will be full by the end of the tour. When we come back we’ll hire Nicholas again for the seafood tour.
Enzo was a very relaxed and personable guide aving lived in Bari for over three decades. We had an array of local foods from local eateries. In our small group we also wondered around the old city centre and into the Church of Saint Christopher. Unfortunately some of the locations and eateries that Enzo wanted to take us to were closed but we ended up at other places that served similar dishes. At one stop we had to wait a long time for the polpetto sandwich. The tour only included 4 different food items (although water and soft drinks were included). The portions were massive but it would have been nice to have included local drinks such as wine or spirits. We left after the artizan ice cream as we had an hour drive back to our accommodation. We suggest if you are coming in from outside of the city to the tour give yourself plenty of time to traverse the gridded streets and find the 24 hr parking.
Nicholas was incredible. He was a local that really knew his home town. Food was delicious and the history was very informative.
Licia was wonderful. We mixed history with food. She shared her mother's cooking stories and even shared her focaccia recipe. We had a great time. I would highly recommend this tour
It was very nice. Licia was very entertaining and told interesting facts/ history/stories. The booking was weird though. It was via getyourguide. First the price was 45 euro, but if you click further and make the payment it went up to 71 euro.
Giuseppe was a great host. Very knowledgeable about the area and took us to 4 fab places for street food. My favourite was the octopus sandwich from Frankos but could not fault any of it Enough food to not need to eat until late evening but not groaning with a food baby! Would definitely recommend. It was the first thing we did when we arrived and has influenced our itinerary for the rest of our time in Bari. Thank you! Lynn & Dave x
