Wij behandelen de details, zodat u de drukte kunt overslaan en kunt genieten van authentieke Spaanse gerechten gemaakt door de lokale bevolking. Eten staat centraal in de Catalaanse cultuur, en er is geen betere manier om het te ervaren dan door tapas te delen met andere foodies. In twee en een half uur bezoekt u vier top tapa spots in de Gotische wijk en El Born, waar u klassieke kleine borden en lokale drankjes proeft terwijl u verborgen culturele pareltjes ontdekt. Onderweg zie je Romeinse ruïnes, charmante pleinen en bezienswaardigheden zoals de Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar. Van patatas bravas en pimientos de Padrón tot knapperig gebakken vis, kroketten, paella en een traditioneel Catalaans dessert, u proeft het beste van de Spaanse en Catalaanse gastronomie, gecombineerd met wijn, vermout en cava. Ontmoet uw vriendelijke lokale Gids op Pl. de Correus, 1, vlakbij het hoofdpostkantoor in de Gotische wijk van Barcelona. Kijk voor de gele Carpe Diem Tours vlag of teken. Zorg dat je 10 minuten eerder aanwezig bent, want de tour begint stipt en er zijn geen restituties beschikbaar voor late aankomsten.
In het hart van de Catalaanse keuken is de Gotische wijk een must-visit voor elke fijnproever. Verken de oudste wijk van Barcelona door zijn smaken, te beginnen bij een tapasrestaurant dat eigendom is van een familie. Proef Spaanse klassiekers zoals kroketten, patatas bravas en pimientos de Padrón, perfect gecombineerd met een glas lokale wijn.
Deze familiebodega doet het al sinds 1945 op de juiste manier. Met slechts vier tapas op het menu toont het de no-nonsense ziel van de Spaanse keuken. Op een steenworp afstand van de haven eten we zoals de zeelieden lang geleden deden, delen we kegels van knapperige boquerones, proeven we traditionele Catalaanse butifarra-worst en spoelen we het allemaal weg met een gietsel uit een porrón en een glas Spaanse vermout. *Vanwege seizoensvakanties, weekendbeschikbaarheid en weersomstandigheden kunnen we mogelijk niet naar deze plek gaan, maar we compenseren dit door extra eten te bestellen bij een andere halte of deze plek te vervangen door een andere locatie.*
We wandelen door de oudste wijk van de stad en bewonderen voormalige Romeinse muren en torens op weg naar de volgende voedselstop.
Na het verlaten van de Gotische wijk gaan we naar het bohemien El Born waar we door pittoreske steegjes dwalen, etalages winkelen bij ambachtelijke winkels en kunstgaleries.
Leer het verhaal achter tapas in de levendige setting van een klassieke pintxos bar, geïnspireerd op Baskenland. Duik er vervolgens in en selecteer uw favoriete pintxos rechtstreeks vanaf de bar.
Voor onze laatste stop zien we een van Barcelona's mooiste basilieken.
We keren terug naar de Gotische wijk voor de grote finale : een stevige paella, een glas sprankelende cava en een klassiek Spaans dessert dat je opnieuw verliefd zal maken op Barcelona.

Roberto was an excellent and informative guide! I came with my family of all ages and we all had a great time. It wasn't too far of a walk so it was very accessible and easy- even in the heat! We got to tour around the area and even step into the church in the Gothic District. The food was great and our guide was so funny & friendly. The best hospitality we received during our time in Barcelona was from him :)

The tapas tour was fantastic! Lots of local food and drink, nice (air conditioned!) restaurants to sit and chat with fellow travelers, great walk around old town, and Claudio was a wonderful guide! He explained all of the food and talked about Catalan traditions and the area. Highest recommendation!

We had such a fun evening with the wonderful Tahmi who was so informative and so friendly. We had a great group who all mixed in together, Aussies from Sydney and Melbourne, fantastic American ladies from Maryland and DC and us Brits. Nice to be guided around 4 bars/ points of interest. Food was great and to have a drink included at each stop was great value. Would suggest that you are not shy about saying if you are not a fish or seafood fan when you purchase or again when you meet the guide. They definitely accommodated my request which was great to see but others didn’t meaning my vegetarian food had to be shared quite widely when we arrived for the paella at the last venue. If you don’t ask in advance don’t expect last minute changes to be accommodated as the tour is on quite a tight timeline to reach each venue.
