Tijdens deze award winnende tour hebben we alles vooraf voor u gepland; geniet van het gemak van gereserveerde tafels en prioriteitsservice, terwijl u achterover leunt, ontspant en geniet van de smaken van de Spaanse keuken. Een lokale Gids neemt je mee op een culinaire reis door twee van Barcelona’s meest iconische wijken, de Gotische wijk en El Born, waar je negen traditionele en moderne tapas proeft. Denk aan patatas bravas, pimientos, gebakken vis, paella en dessert, vakkundig gecombineerd met drankjes zoals wijn, cava, Spaanse vermout of non-alcoholische dranken indien gewenst. Onderweg zie je belangrijke culturele bezienswaardigheden, van Romeinse ruïnes in de gotiek tot de iconische Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar in Born. Ga met je gids naar Pl. de Correus, 1, naast het historische postkantoor van Barcelona. Kijk uit naar de gele Carpe Diem Tours vlag of bord. We raden aan om 10 minuten eerder te arriveren om vlot te beginnen, omdat de tour precies op tijd begint en er geen restitutie kan worden verleend voor late aankomsten.
De Gotische wijk is het hart van de Catalaanse keuken en een must voor elke fijnproever. Begin uw culinaire reis op een tapasplek die door een familie wordt beheerd en proef Spaanse favorieten zoals kroketten, patatas bravas en pimientos de Padrón, elk perfect gecombineerd met een glas lokale wijn.
Deze bodega is sinds 1945 in familiebezit en doet het al generaties lang op de juiste manier. Met slechts vier tapas op het menu viert het de eenvoudige, soulvolle essentie van de Spaanse keuken. Op een steenworp afstand van de haven dineren we als zeilers van weleer – we delen kegels van knapperige boquerones, proeven traditionele Catalaanse butifarra-worst en nippen van een porrón naast een glas Spaanse vermout. *Vanwege seizoensvakanties, weekendbeschikbaarheid en weersomstandigheden kunnen we mogelijk niet naar deze plek gaan, maar we compenseren dit door extra eten te bestellen bij een andere halte of deze plek te vervangen door een andere locatie.*
We wandelen door de oudste wijk van de stad en zien voormalige Romeinse muren en torens op weg naar de volgende voedselstop.
Vervolgens gaan we naar het bohemien El Born waar we door smalle steegjes dwalen om te etaleren bij ambachtelijke winkels en kunstgaleries.
Ontdek de geschiedenis achter tapas in de levendige setting van een klassieke pintxos bar, geïnspireerd door Baskenland en ervaar de traditie zelf terwijl u uw eigen kiest.
Voordat we El Born verlaten, stoppen we en verwonderen we ons over een van de mooiste basilieken in de stad.
Het is tijd voor de grote finale : een hartige paella, een glas borrelende cava, en een klassiek Spaans dessert.

Our tipsy tour guide was Lindsay and she was great! She took us to El Born and the Gothic quarter; stopped at 4 different places and had 3 drinks. I recommend doing this in the beginning of your trip in Barcelona.

Unfortunately though this event was highly recommended by other friends who did do it the previous year, we did not enjoy it to its full capability. First of all, our tour guide was late arriving, secondly, the group was fairly large (about 12-16) unless one was immediately close to the guide, it was impossible to hear what she was telling us. The absolute main reason for our disappointment was the food offered, which proved inadequate for the number in our group. The paella as the last dish was well over cooked and dry . For the second stop, there were insufficient number of plates and food to go round and waiting for more was necessary and rather unpleasant. Considering the per person cost this was in our opinion most unsavoury.

We loved this tour! Sky was our guide and was amazing. We did the 1:00 tour and had a group of 14. Sky had us all departing on time and onto our first location. She kept us entertained and under control. We went to 4 different restaurants and had so much food! Ended the tour with seafood paella. It was the perfect tour for my birthday and Sky went out of her way to make sure we had birthday apple pie! Would recommend this tour to all foodies!!
