Deze activiteit biedt begeleide wandeltochten gericht op de buitenkant en architectonische details van de gevel van de Sagrada Familia door Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona. De Sagrada Familia is in aanbouw sinds 1882 en is een van de grootste lopende architectonische projecten in Europa. De basiliek heeft twee voltooide monumentale gevels, de Geboortefaçade, die Gaudi direct begeleidde, en de Passiefaçade, na zijn dood aangevuld met sculpturen van Josep Maria Subirachs. Een derde gevel, de Glory Facade, is momenteel gepland. Uw Gids zal de architectonische details, religieuze symboliek en bouwgeschiedenis uitleggen die zichtbaar zijn van buiten de basiliek. De Sagrada Familia ligt in de wijk Eixample van Barcelona, een wijk die in de 19e eeuw werd ontworpen door stedenbouwkundige Ildefons Cerda. Het gebied staat bekend om zijn grid lay-out met kenmerkende achthoekige blokken en de concentratie van Catalaanse modernistische gebouwen.

Gasten ontmoeten hun Gids voor het KFC op de Avinguda de Gaudi en beginnen met een lezing van de Geboortegevel, de enige gevel die Gaudi direct begeleidt, waar stenen beeldhouwwerken scènes uit het leven van Christus weergeven naast planten, dieren en insecten uit de natuur. Tijdens de wandeling krijgen reizigers context over het 19e-eeuwse rasterontwerp van de wijk Eixample en zijn plaats in het verhaal van het Catalaanse modernisme. De rondleiding wordt afgesloten met een overzicht van de lopende bouw en de geplande Glory Facade. Tickets zijn niet inbegrepen.

Very bad experience! We had an appointment at 9 a.m. in the morning, we arrived at 8:30 a.m. at the meeting point and no one was there. We paid absolutely for nothing!!
When I bought the ticket, it was not clear that the experience consisted only of a guided tour of the outside area, on the street. This information appears only in small letters on the ticket, which I consider insufficient. I felt deceived with the Plan must be clear that the tour is NOT INSIDE THE BASILICA. All of us felt frustrated; it was a short tour and outside the basilica. NOTHING TO SEE

Deceptive ad for EXTERIOR ONLY of the Sagrada Familia. Ad and emails were NOT made clear until it was too late to book tickets for inside the cathedral AND too late to cancel this tour. If it was made clear at the time of booking we would have had time to book actual tickets to tour the Sagrada Família.

Our guide was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer any question. She provided fascinating insights into the history and architecture of the Sagrada Família and current/future building works, as well as the life of Gaudi. She also shared suggestions of where to eat and other attractions to see nearby. The experience was great but a little short; while the tour was advertised to run an hour it only went for 45 minutes.

Great exterior tour. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable. This is a great alternative if you can’t get tickets for the full tour.
