Bangkok is de perfecte stad van contrasten. Straatkraampjes buiten Michelin-restaurants, paalwoningen naast opvallende hoogbouw en een smeltkroes van culinaire invloeden die door de eeuwen heen zijn geëvolueerd. Toch komen de meeste mensen naar Thailand en eten ze hetzelfde als thuis: Pad Thai en Green Curry. Maar er is nog zoveel meer te bieden. Tijdens deze tour proef je je een weg door de tijd en probeer je de regionale keuken van Thailand, die de culinaire identiteit van Thailand vormt. Van Chinese immigranten tot Noord-Thaise etnische groepen, ons doel is om gerechten te introduceren die nieuw voor je zijn, op plaatsen waar je nooit zou denken te bezoeken. Stap in onze tuk-tuks en verken traditionele wijken en lokale markten, plus een vleugje hedendaagse hipsterscene. Deze tour wordt niet aanbevolen voor vegetariërs, veganisten of glutenvrije personen. We zullen ons best doen om aan verzoeken te voldoen, maar vervangingen zullen zeer beperkt zijn. Ga verder dan de bekende gerechten van Thailand tijdens deze tuktuk-reis door het oude Bangkok op plaatsen die je nooit alleen zou vinden. Deze tour laat je zien waar de lokale bevolking eet terwijl we eeuwenoude regionale keukens van Thailand ontdekken op 5 authentieke haltes, weg van de toeristen in Chinatown. Deze tour begint bij het metrostation Hua Lamphong. Direct na het reserveren ontvangt u een e-mail met details over de vergaderlocatie en een routebeschrijving.
Begin je avond met het proeven van **Tom Yum Wontons**, een heerlijke mix van Chinese en Thaise smaken, waarbij tom yum ingrediënten zoals citroengras, galangal en kaffir limoen worden gemengd met knapperig gebakken wontons, geserveerd naast een kom tom yum noedels. Wandel vervolgens door de verborgen steegjes van Bangkok, een doolhof van levendige straatkunst, historische tempels en een prachtig uitzicht op de rivier, eindigend met een schilderachtige zonsondergang over de pagodes.
Wandel door een van de oudste markten van Bangkok voor een authentiek kijkje in de lokale straatvoedselcultuur. Ontdek populaire Midden- en Zuid-Thaise gerechten zoals gebakken bakbananen, handgemaakte citroengrasworst, seizoensfruit en meer! Bezoek dan een geliefde tante voor haar op houtskool gegrilde satéspiesjes gemarineerd in kokosmelk, kurkuma en aromatische kruiden, daarna gedoopt in haar zelfgemaakte pindasaus.
De Isaanse keuken wordt gevierd vanwege de robuuste smaken die kruidig, zuur en umami combineren. In dit al lang bestaande restaurant proberen we varkensgehakt met aromatische kruiden (Laab), verse papajasalade (Som Tum), geurige kleefrijst en gehaktballetjes gebakken met limoenblaadjes voor een perfecte mix van deze traditionele smaken.
Bangkok’s favoriete zoete lekkernij is een lust voor het oog. Laat je gids de beste combinatie van seizoensfruit en populaire toevoegingen kiezen, allemaal zwemmend in verse kokosmelk.

Taxi's en lokale ride-share apps zoals Grab and Bolt zijn beschikbaar in Bangkok. Houd er rekening mee dat het verkeer in Bangkok altijd overbelast is en de timing onvoorspelbaar is. Als u besluit om met de auto te reizen, houd dan rekening met voldoende extra tijd. Als u bij een andere uitgang wordt afgezet, kunt u het beste naar beneden het metrostation ingaan en de borden naar uitgang 4 volgen. (Let op : in de spits zal het druk zijn in dit gebied. We had a wonderful evening on our Lost Plate Tuk Tuk food tour. The arrangements and pick up was seamless. The drivers and especially our guide (Mona) were amazing. We got to try lots of different regional foods, sampled interesting fruits and meats and got to see a different part of the city. A wonderful way to finish our short stay in Bangkok.

What a wonderful evening with Cha cha our guide tasting the true Bangkok. From little holes on the wall to a bustling market well off the tourist trail we ate like locals and also Kings. Make sure you come hungry as the servings are generous and the food is too good not to finish - we ate at 5 stops ! Cha cha was delightful and so knowledgeable, plus travelling across the city by Tuk Tuk we had the bonus of a sightseeing tour. Thanks again for a memorable night

Cha Cha our tour guide was a great host. He explained so much of the Thailand/Chinese culture and traditions to us. There was various food tasting, however my absolute favorite was the noodle and soup and the sticky mango rice at the end. I truly enjoyed the tour and learning so much about the culture. It was a great tour and experience. Around 4 houra tour combined with 5 food local stops (some small restaurants, local market, street food.. finishing with a drink in a rooftop. At the same time you walk around and it was also possible to admire the sunset on the river side. Food was tasty... big quantity and really worth... local places chosen to eat were also very cool. Our guide, ChaCha was great. THANKS to you because you make the trip more enjoyable. Very nice guide, explaining everything very clear, good level of English and knowledge. If you have the tour with ChaCha you won't be dissapointed.

We had a SO MUCH food. Our tour guide was lovely and very friendly. It was a small tour so loads of leftovers (which was a shame) but still a great experience. Cha-cha took us to local places and even picked up a few bits extra when we asked about them so we could try. He also took us on a little walk to see some other sites as we went. Very thoughtful!
