Rijd de berg op en rijd met de Mount Standish-stoeltjeslift naar het Standish Viewpoint-platform. Sunshine Village ligt hoog op de Continental Divide in het hart van Banff National Park. Het beschikt over drie uitgestrekte bergen met adembenemende uitzichten, ononderbroken door tekenen van beschaving. Slechts een korte 15 minuten rijden van de stad Banff, Sunshine Village is de perfecte plek om de drukte te ontsnappen en te genieten van de natuur. Bezoek de cadeauwinkel en het café voordat je een 22 minuten durende gondelrit maakt die je meeneemt door de rotsachtige bergen en het dorp in. Volg de tour in je eigen tempo en neem de Mount Standish-stoeltjeslift of wandel de berg op naar het uitkijkpunt. Berijd de Mountish-stoeltjeslift op meer dan 2.400 m (7.875 voet), de hoogste bezichtigingshoogte in de buurt van Banff en Lake Louise. Ervaar 360 graden uitzicht op de omliggende Rocky Mountains. Je zal voelen alsof je de beste bent ter wereld. Vanaf daar kunt u nog meer adembenemende landschappen vangen vanaf het platform Standish viewpoint of verbinding maken met de Sunshine Meadows-wandelpaden en de drie hoogalpiene meren bezoeken; Strottenhoofd, Grizzly en Rock Isle. Sluit vervolgens uw dag af met een koud drankje en een aantal verrukkelijke etenswaren bij Mad Trapper's Grill & BBQ (niet inbegrepen). Er zijn gratis pendelbussen beschikbaar naar Banff Sunshine Village Gondola, met 6 dagelijkse pick-ups in Banff op verschillende locaties vanaf 07:00 uur. Gratis pendelbus met dagelijks 6 retouren naar Banff op verschillende tijdstippen gedurende de dag, laatste vertrekt vanaf het basisgebied van de basis van Banff Sunshine Village om 17.45 uur.
Op slechts 15 minuten rijden van de stad Banff, is Sunshine Village de perfecte plek om te ontsnappen aan de drukte en te genieten van de natuur. Let op: Plan je bezoek zodat je voldoende tijd hebt om met de gondel naar het dorp te rijden en te genieten van de bezienswaardigheden vanaf het Standish Viewing Deck. We raden u aan om uiterlijk om 15.30 uur naar het dorp te komen.

It was amazing one of the best things we’ve done while on the trip here in Banff. This gondola experience was one of the best things in the area that we did while in Banff.
This was so family friendly. Took 3 kids ages 7, 4 & 21 months. Unsure about the chairlift with the baby but ended up doing it and being okay… but you know your kids. Hiked down & then rode the chairlift again to see the sites coming down, don’t miss out on that. Got lunch and played with the kids. Not crowded like the other Banff spots. Simply gorgeous
The gondola was a challenge for my fear of heights but it was amazing! We had the gondola to ourselves so my hubby was the only one witnessing me freaking out! We loved the hikes at the top and stayed for a few beers into the afternoon to people watch and enjoy the scenery. Wasn't very crowded at all. Saw tons of young kids doing the hikes, so good for families. I wish I could see this in winter time...probably amazing with snow! Employee in the museum was full of great info about the resort yer round and so friendly. She is a ski instructor in the winter there. We had a great day and took a ton of great pics!
Great views of the Canadian Rockies! The gondola takes you to the alpine zone, where you’ll find great trails and guides. Not real strenuous hiking and wildflowers are abundant.
I stayed at this resort with my wife last year and the hikes are breath taking. I just returned again a couple of days ago and took my Son. The hike is around 5 miles if you do the loop and is pretty easy even if you have kids above 10 years old. You will not be disappointed and worth the time and the money. You do not have to stay at the resort to do the hike. The resort rooms are really out dated (style of the 7o's) unless you get the suite room which is the only room I would stay in. I would drive into Banff to eat as the resort food is not good and very expensive.
Sunshine Meadows are always worth a trip. But $70 still expensive for a senior on a limited budget. We would love to go again in August, but are not sure if we can afford it
This was by far a top experience for us during our time in Banff. The chairlift was down for the day, but the hike up to Standish was stunning. It is especially great for those slightly afraid of heights/elevation as there are sprawling alpine meadows with few very drop offs until you reach the top. We concluded our hike with lunch at Mad Trappers - absolutely delicious with the perfect alpine vibes.

Had a great time at Sunshine Village. Less crowded than Banff and great hiking. Take the gondola up - takes about 20 minutes to get to the top.
Bob N and Jim H were snow hosts that gave an excellent tour of all the mountains. We did blue black runs and they had us skiing some of the best runs. I highly recommend this tour...and it's free!
