Twee van onze favoriete plekken op één dag. Reis van de wereld van de oude Maya's naar de oude piratenroutes van Bacalar, allemaal vanuit Costa Maya. Verken de Mayaruïnes van Chacchoben, waar oude tempels en ceremoniële structuren verrijzen tussen de tropische jungle. Wandel met je Gids door de site en ontdek het verhaal van deze Maya-stad, omringd door inheemse planten, tropische vogels en de geluiden van de jungle. Laat dan de oude stad achter je en ga verder naar Bacalar’s Seven Color Lagoon, ooit onderdeel van oude piratenroutes en tegenwoordig beroemd om zijn heldere zoetwater en veranderende blauwtinten. Zwemmen, kajakken, of gewoon ontspannen bij de lagune met een koud drankje terwijl u geniet van de wind en het uitzicht. En omdat een dag als deze goed eten verdient, geniet je van een inbegrepen lunch vlak bij de lagune voordat je teruggaat naar Costa Maya.

Uw avontuur begint met vervoer vanuit Costa Maya, vertrekkend 1 uur nadat uw cruiseschip in de haven is aangekomen. Geniet van de ongeveer 50 minuten rijden naar Chacchoben, langs de lokale dorpen langs de weg. Breng ongeveer 1 uur door met het verkennen van de Chacchoben Maya-ruïnes met je Gids, en ontdek een oud Maya-ceremonieel centrum omgeven door tropische jungle. Wandel langs indrukwekkende tempels en bouwwerken terwijl je leert over de geschiedenis en geheimen van deze fascinerende stad. Volg de junglepaden en geniet van de combinatie van oude Maya-architectuur en tropische natuur, met inheemse planten, kleurrijke vogels en zelfs de mogelijkheid om slingerapen tussen de bomen te spotten. Na het verkennen van Chacchoben rijdt u ongeveer 25 minuten verder naar Bacalar Lagoon voor het tweede deel van uw avontuur.
Na het verkennen van Chacchoben, gaat u verder naar de prachtige Bacalar Seven Color Lagoon, ooit een toevluchtsoord voor piraten en tegenwoordig beroemd om zijn kristalheldere zoetwater en ongelooflijke tinten blauw en turkoois. Breng ongeveer 2 uur door bij de lagune en geniet ervan in uw eigen tempo. Neem een verfrissende duik, pak een kajak en verken het water, of ontspan gewoon op een ligstoel met een koud drankje terwijl u geniet van de wind en het uitzicht. Neem een pauze voor een inbegrepen tacolunch met chips en salsa, waarbij u kunt kiezen uit vullingen zoals kipfajitas, Spaanse worst met aardappel of traditionele al pastor. Na uw tijd in Bacalar kunt u achterover leunen en ontspannen op de ongeveer 1 uur en 5 minuten durende terugrit naar de haven van Costa Maya, met uw cruiseschema altijd in gedachten.

- Houd er rekening mee dat de totale loopafstand van uw cruiseschip naar het ontmoetingspunt ongeveer 15 minuten bedraagt.
- BELANGRIJK: Reizigers die met een cruiseschip komen, moeten de volledige naam van het schip opgeven.

- Gasten van 21 jaar en ouder krijgen twee alcoholische drankjes. Extra premium dranken zijn beschikbaar voor aankoop.
- Zwemvesten zijn verplicht voor alle wateractiviteiten en worden verstrekt
- Wateractiviteiten kunnen door lokale autoriteiten worden beperkt als gevolg van wind, bliksem of andere onveilige weersomstandigheden.
- Kinderen moeten 10 jaar of ouder zijn om alleen een enkele kajak te peddelen. Kinderen jonger dan 10 jaar mogen kajakken met een volwassene onder toezicht.
- Late aankomsten / No-Shows : Gasten die te laat arriveren of niet komen opdagen voor hun geplande activiteit komen niet in aanmerking voor restitutie.
- Gewichtslimiet voor een enkele kajak is 220 pond of 270 pond voor een dubbele kajak.
- Deze tour houdt in dat je buiten over junglepaden loopt, met wat rotsen, wortels en oneffen oppervlakken.
- Kajakken is niet toegestaan voor zwangere gasten.
- Transportvoertuigen zijn alleen geschikt voor opvouwbare rolstoelen. Voertuigen zijn niet aangepast voor rolstoelen en niet-opvouwbare rolstoelen kunnen niet worden ondergebracht. Het Bacalar Lagoon gedeelte is niet rolstoeltoegankelijk vanwege het natuurlijke terrein en de toegang tot het water.

Elliott (our guide) and Pedro (our driver) were phenomenal! Our cruise ship had limited time at port that day. Our guide adapted the excursion and watched the time for us so that we didn’t have to stress about making it back to the ship on time. We had grandma with us in a wheelchair and they were able to accommodate her. Our guide’s knowledge was very impressive and he taught us about the Maya culture and history in an engaging and fun way. Great sense of humor too! The perfect balance between history and fun. The tacos we delicious and Bacalar Lagoon was stunning. The water temp was perfect. The kids loved kayaking and jumping off the dock. 10 out of 10 experience!

This was a relaxing and great tour! Our tour guide was Alan. What an absolute joy he was!!!! The ruins were fascinating. Driving to the ruins, you got a feel for how the locals live. Very eye opening. We loved the lagoon and the food was delicious!!

Our guide Joel was very informative and did a great job educating the group on the history of the Mayans and encouraged us to learn the real culture! The ruins were interesting. The Lagoon was not what we expected. The pictures show beautiful cenotes, but the spot was REALLY small and there are no cenotes. The drinks were cold but so was the food. Overall, this excursion was nice, but it was rushed and there is a lot of riding on the bus.

We experienced issues with the AC during the bus ride to the ruins. With the heat it’s was unbearable once we got to the ruins we changed busses and the rest of the experience was excellent. Erick and Diego were amazing guides

Yoshi was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable of the history of the ruins! Had tasty adobada and chicken tacos, tortilla chips, salsas, and pina coladas at the bacalar lagoon and kayaking was a blast! Definitely recommend this tour :)

Overall, the experience was excellent and enjoyable. The ruins were fascinating and exciting to explore. The time there unfortunately was a bit rushed so would recommend spending a bit more time there. The Bacalar Lagoon part of the experience was disappointing and misleading. The pictures on Viator are not accurate and do not depict the actual lagoon visited. While the place was enjoyable, it was not nearly as pretty as the pictures posted on Viator by the provider. The place is a lagoon (lake actually), but not where the seven color Bacalar Lagoon is. So please be aware. As far as the staff directing the excursion, they were all outstanding, professional, fun, entertaining, and caring individuals. They made the trip.

We went to the ruins and that was sweet!!!! But the best part was going to the lagoon! It was private!!!
