Ervaar deze geweldige tour van 3,5 uur waarin je de levenscyclus van de zeeschildpadden leert kennen, de kenmerken van de verschillende schildpadden die dit deel van Mexico bezoeken, de broedtijd, het overlevingspercentage en alle moeilijkheden die deze kleine wezens moeten doormaken het moment dat ze geboren worden en naar de oceaan rennen en tot het moment dat ze vele jaren later terugkomen naar het strand om eieren te leggen. Om het gemakkelijk te begrijpen zullen we een kaart gebruiken om de verschillen uit te leggen van de 4 verschillende soorten schildpadden die Mexico bezoeken. Deze service omvat vervoer heen en terug van de lobby van uw hotel in Ixtapa of Zihuatanejo naar de schildpaddenboerderij, een informatieve gids en de mogelijkheid om te zien hoe de babyzeeschildpadden naar de oceaan lopen en over de grote golven zwemmen. Na de schildpaddenfarm heb je de mogelijkheid om een verse, lokaal gemaakte kokosmakaron te proeven.

We zullen door de stad reizen om bij de landelijke gemeenschap van Juluchuca te komen, beroemd om de productie van kokosmacarons en het langste en meest afgelegen strand heeft, waardoor het de beste plek is voor de mama-schildpadden om eieren te komen leggen, weg van het lawaai van de toeristische steden.
Op het strand van Juluchuca leggen we je de levenscyclus van de zeeschildpadden uit en vertellen we je de kenmerken van de 3 verschillende soorten zeeschildpadden die eieren komen leggen in dit deel van Mexico, we zullen ook de verschillende roofdieren noemen die ze eerder doden ze halen de oceaan en ook als ze eenmaal in de oceaan zijn. Na een uitleg van 20 minuten gaan we een nest uitkiezen dat de dag ervoor gevonden is, we halen voorzichtig een klein beetje zand weg en laten je een van de eieren zien, daarna bedekken we het nest. Daarna selecteren we het nest dat aan het uitkomen is en zie je hoe de schildpadden naar de oppervlakte komen. Alle schildpadden worden in een kleine container geplaatst. De schildpadden blijven ongeveer 10 tot 20 minuten in de container, totdat ze actief zijn en klaar om te gaan. Nadat we ze naar het natte zand hebben gebracht op ongeveer 25 voet afstand van de oceaan en zodra ze in het natte zand zijn gezet, rennen ze naar de oceaan. We wachten tot ze allemaal de oceaan bereiken.

We absolutely loved this turtle release tour. Luis taught us about the different kinds of turtles, then we each took five babies from the nest and got to interact with them until they were alert enough to be released into the ocean. One of my highlights from the week!
My husband and I and our 3 kids (13,11,8) did the sea turtle experience with Luis. He is so kind, knowledgeable, and fun! We all learned a lot, and getting to be hands-on with the baby turtles was really incredible. It was so great that we booked the snorkel tour with him for a few days later which was ALSO amazing! He drove us to the water taxi and we went across to Isla Ixtapa which was gorgeous, did some snorkeling and he showed us all kinds of beautiful fish, then we spent the day eating, drinking, and playing on the beach. Finally, he is giving us the best price for a van to the airport. We cannot recommend Luis enough!!
Our guide was phenomenal! Incredibly knowledgeable! Was fluent in English! Funny! Everything in a personality needed to have a good time! There was even surprise adventure. The men of the baby turtle sanctuary were so sweet and caring. And the absolute best were the baby sea turtles and the experience of getting to watch them start their sea lives! 10/10 recommend for those looking for ADVENTURE!
Very informative. They take pride in helping the turtles. Being able to release the turtles was amazing. I would suggest July through August as it is in the middle to the end of hatching season.

Really great experience, the beach was beautiful. These guys are doing such important work. The bonus was the ATV ride and coconut treats.
An absolutely life long memorable event. The drive to the sanctuary was educational, thanks to Pablo's knowledge of the area. The excursion to the ocean site where the baby sea turtle sanctuary is located was a lot fun riding on the ATV's thru coconut groves. The short class on the different sea turtle that lay their eggs on this 14 km strip of beach was very informative. We can not say enough positive things about the entire experience. Will definitely be returning with friends and family to share the truly moving experience of nature.
We booked and paid for three adults to go on a tour on February 23. My husband became ill and I advised the tour operator, more than 24 hours in advance and in accordance with its cancellation policy. February 22 was the same day the madness in P.V. occurred and the remaining two in our party were uncomfortable travelling outside the city. The operator has refused to refund any of the fees, including the one that was cancelled more than 24 hours in advance of the tour. My advice: DO NOT pay in advance. It has been a miserable experience.
Luis took our family on an amazing trip to learn about several species of sea turtles, their life cycles, and their what is being done to help save/protect them. The two men that run the rescue were so kind and you could tell they loved being a part of saving the turtles. They truly care. Luis was an excellent guide and translated everything so we understood the whole process. He is kind and very informative from the moment he picked us up at our hotel to the moment he dropped us off at the end of the tour. He was so helpful. We definitely recommend this tour with Luis!
The baby sea turtle release was amazing! We learned a lot about the turtles from the two gentlemen who run the turtle rescue, then were so amazed with the hands on experience getting to hold and release the baby turtles into the ocean. These men do so much to help improve the turtle population. They are so dedicated to the cause and do it for the love of the turtles. Luis was a great tour guide! He was so friendly, translated the entire turtle presentation, and gave us so much information on the drive to and from the turtle rescue area. His English is excellent which made the experience better as we fully understood everything. I would definitely recommend this activity. My family really enjoyed it and it was even better with Luis!
