Calling this a “wildlife safari” is quite a stretch. We saw a few deer, a lone hare, and some livestock on a farm, aIl with the aid of binoculars. Don’t expect to see a moose; our tour guide never has. While I don’t have moose in my backyard in New Jersey, I see a greater quantity and variety of wildlife in my garden (all without the need for binoculars). Although spread out in a lovely setting on a weathered roadside picnic table (where you can use an outhouse if needed) the traditional Swedish meal that was provided can at best be called an evening snack. A stop at a lake on the way back to Stockholm was essentially pointless, absolutely nothing noteworthy here. Haven’t we all seen a lake before? While the tour guide was a lovely young woman, her knowledge of Swedish flora and fauna, and history and culture was somewhat lacking. This 4-hour tour is certainly not worth the $175.45 per person that we paid. Spend your time and money elsewhere.
Hi Janet, Thanks for your review, we appreciate your feedback and we will do our best to improve from it. We are sad you were disappointed with our Wildlife Safari. We like to offer the tour as both a nature and cultural experience of the Swedish countryside as we know that some nights might spot less animals than others. We do believe that we have a high success rate for spotting a variety of exciting native animals though. Our traditional midsummer meal is freshly prepared, plentiful and has a wide variety of local Swedish dishes to try. Admittedly, it's not always to everyone's tastes, however, it is popular with most of our guests. We usually always get some leftover back at the end of the tour. We like to introduce a stop at the end of the tour by a lake to see the sunset, spot some birdlife and to stretch the legs before going back to the city as this is mostly a van-based tour. We hope that the city met your expectation even if our tour did not. Best Regards, The Stockholm Adventures Team
Didn’t get to take the tour due to the bus/public transportation running late which made us 15 minutes late and they left without us. There was no contact from the tour operator prior to the tour and there was no contact number provided other than the main office which was closed due to this being an evening tour; therefore when we wanted to let them know we were running a few minutes late, there was no way to reach them. I asked for at least a partial refund since we did not get to go on the tour, but the tour operator refused to do even that and said it was completely non-refundable. Terrible customer service and communication!
Hi Christy, Thanks for your feedback. We are sad you missed your tour. In our confirmation information we recommend planning to arrive 15 minutes in advance to make sure any unforeseen circumstances do not prevent you to arrive to your tour and to have time to do the check in. We are proud to start the tours on time as we want to make the most of our activities and adventures. Your group that day was fully booked (that is 8 participants) and everyone else arrived on time. So although the guide waited 9 minutes for you, they could not wait any longer without affecting the tour timings and therefore the experience of the other participants. Best Regards, The Stockholm Adventures Team
This is a great tour and Jana is a great guide. Lovely scenery, delicious dinner, lots of animals to see and great city infirmation from Jana.

Hi Carina, We are glad you enjoyed your Wildlife Safari. Thanks for your review and we hope to see you again in the future. Best Regards, The Stockholm Adventures Team
Great experience! The guide was a delight and very knowledgeable. We had a yummy dinner in a nice bush location and saw 2 moose and lots of deer which was a treat.
Nice trip, good friendly guide. Unfortunately no Elk seen but a lot of deer. Food was a little less if you don't like herring. It was nice that we were in a nice place in the open air.
Hi Leuke, We are glad you enjoyed the tour. Thanks for your review and feedback, greatly appreciated. Best Regards, The Stockholm Adventures Team
Our guide was very good and certainly helped to keep the tour interesting. However, the overall tour was disappointing, the picnic had a poor selection of produce, mostly salted herring or variations thereof, together with boiled eggs and boiled potatoes and a small simple salad. Not a lot of effort for the price paid. The area was a 'nature reserve' but with quite an amount of development and farmland. All was viewed from a minibus and if something was spotted then we stopped and viewed from the side of the road. We did spot moose in the distance, some hare and buzzards. Disappointing. Normally such a tour involves a walk and one or two viewing hides.
From start to finish a great decision ! Nature, our guide and of course the animals! It was a great group and the time experienced there this time, I can recommend to everyone ! Always happy!
Hi Judith, We are glad you enjoyed your Wildlife Safari with us. Thanks for your nice review and we hope to see you again in the future. Best Regards, The Stockholm Adventures Team
There was no real bathroom stops. They stopped at an old style out house and no light inside. It was totally dark inside. He stopped again at another out house later in the trip but again no light and both places had no way to wash your hands. They should have handed out wipes to clean your hands. Then we had a dinner that the guide brought but again no way to clean or disinfect your hands. Also it said safari but we only saw deer and a bunny. This was not worth the price they charged for this tour. I would not recommend it.
Hi Diane, We are sad to read that you did not enjoy our Wildlife Safari. The Wildlife Safari is an outdoor tour and bathroom facilities are limited. We always suggest everyone to go to the toilet before starting the tour as during the tour there might not be a toilet. Our guides always carry toilet paper and hand sanitizer to clean our hands at any point during the tour. Finally this is a wildlife safari and although we consider that we have good probabilities of seeing wildlife it unfortunately can never be guaranteed. Thanks for your feedback and we hope you had a nice time in Stockholm. Best Regards, The Stockholm Adventures Team
Usually I trust Trip Advisor and Viator but this tour is concerning. First the driver was nice and drove well- I’ll give him that- but had no idea how to work the car- so we are driving in a van with no side or back windows that open and he can’t figure out how to turn on the AC- so everyone in the back was miserable. I was in the middle and finally asked for the front windows down as I was getting carsick. Unacceptable! (Eventually after 3.5 hours my husband figured out how to turn on the AC. Not that hard.) We wasted time having some random picnic dinner with food prepared by I don’t know who but Stockholm Adventures runs the risk of a health issue as the driver is putting out this picnic dinner. First, dinner should be provided by restaurants only with health standards. Second, it was a complete waste of time having a picnic in the middle of a field. Third, the food was not great so why waste a dinner in Sweden on sub- par food. Again, the food is being served out of some random containers and who knows how well they are cleaned. The tour needed to be looking for moose and a two hour tour only. Or take the extra time and drive somewhere we may see them. There were farm houses around so I’m suspect less chance of a moose around homes. Has anyone seen a moose in this tour? Too much time wasted when there’s lots to do in Stockholm. Finally, I usually trust trip advisor but I’m suspect that some reviews are fake after this experience especially for the price charged. I have taken many great Viator tours and this one is not up to their standards. Shame on Viator for not making sure that it is as it’s their name on the line. Buyer beware.
Hello, We are sad to read that you did not enjoy our wildlife safari. We do appreciate your feedback and the time you took in writing a review. Having said that, we do believe that we are clear in the description and the pictures of the activity that we offer a traditional Swedish midsummer meal in a picnic set up. We follow all the government rules and we have all the permissions to cook and prepare the food and we take all the safety and healthy measurements to meet the standards. Usually people enjoy the food as it is a way to learn about Sweden and its culture as you can read from other review from guests that we had throughout all the years that we have been doing this tour. As we mentioned also in the description of the tour, this is a van based tour, meaning that we try to cover as much area as possible by driving the van as that is the best way to spot the animals. The swedish wildlife usually comes out of the woods and into the farm lands at dusk to feed on rapeseeds plants and other farm plantations. Despite your disappointment we believe that our tour set up and description is clear and we have hundreds of participants every year that enjoys it. Best Regards, The Stockholm Adventures Team
