Uiteraard is dit de beste manier om Dhaka City te verkennen. Verken als een local, niet als een buitenlander. Als je niet van drukte en chaos houdt, moet je deze tour vermijden. Tijdens deze tour maak je gebruik van lokaal vervoer zoals riksja’s en (Tuktuks), etc. Er worden geen luxe auto’s voorzien. Je krijgt de kans om lokale mensen te ontmoeten en de echte dhaka te ervaren. Houd rekening met de volgende punten voordat u deze tour boekt: 1. Wandelen en riksja rijden kan moeilijk voor je zijn. Zoek over Rickshaw om een idee te krijgen over het ontwerp. Ook moet je wat middellange afstanden lopen. 2. Rickshaws/Tuktuks zijn niet vooraf geregeld voor deze tour. We huren alle voertuigen zoals de lokale bevolking dat doet. 3. Lalbagh Fort blijft zondag gesloten. We slaan deze attractie over als je van plan bent om Dhaka op zondag te bezoeken. 4. Ahsan Manjil (Roze Paleis) blijft donderdag gesloten. Deze attractie slaan we over als je van plan bent om Dhaka op donderdag te bezoeken.

Karwan Bazar is een van de drukste en meest energieke groothandelsmarkten van Dhaka, waar het dagelijks leven van de stad zich in full colour ontvouwt. Dhakeshwari is een hindoeïstische tempel in het oude dhaka-gebied. Dit is tevens de nationale tempel van Bangladesh.
Lalbagh Fort is een fort in de oude stad Dhaka, Bangladesh. De naam is afgeleid van de wijk Lalbagh, wat Rode Tuin betekent. Dit monument is erg belangrijk in de geschiedenis van Bangladesh. Dit werd gemaakt voor de martelaar die in 1952 over zijn leven loog voor de Bangla-taal.
Ship Breaking & Repairing Yard is tegenwoordig een trendy attractie in Dhaka. Vooral deze plek staat op nummer 1 op de lijst van fotografen die Bangladesh bezoeken. Deze ligt aan de andere kant van de Buriganga rivier. We moeten de rover oversteken met een kleine boot, wat niet meer dan 3-5 minuten duurt.
Ahsan Manzil wordt ook wel het roze paleis genoemd. Dit was het officiële woonpaleis en zetel van de Nawab van Dhaka. Het gebouw is gelegen in Kumartoli langs de oevers van de Buriganga-rivier in Dhaka, Bangladesh. De bouw begon in 1859 en werd voltooid in 1872. Het werd gebouwd in de Indo-Saraceense Revival-architectuur. Het is aangewezen als nationaal museum. *** Let op: Ahsan Manjil (Pink Palace) blijft op donderdag gesloten. De Armeense Kerk, ook wel bekend als de Armeense Apostolische Kerk van de Heilige Wederopstanding, is een historisch belangrijk architectonisch monument gelegen in het Armanitola-gebied van het oude Dhaka, Bangladesh. The tour guide was attentive and felt very good throughout. Get to know the old Dhaka district in a local way and feel different people and sights. Very good for a day trip and recommended for all business visitors with limited time.

I had one day in Dhaka and wanted to see as much as I could. Rocky helped me arrange a special tour-- Dhaka like a local combined with a food tour! Dhaka is such a challenging city to navigate. We were able to see sites all over the city, when it would have taken me all day to travel to one site if I were left to my own devices. Rocky is knowledgeable and friendly, and I learned so much about the culture! As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe on this tour and was able to travel to places I wouldn't be able to navigate safely alone. I strongly recommend booking the Bangladesh like a Local tour with Cholo. Dhaka is not a city that can be navigated solo if you don't know it well. The tour was fun, professional, and so rich in sights and culture.

I had the most amazing 2 days with Rocky. Right from planning the trip via email and text messages, to us finallly meeting and exploring Dhaka, it was all smooth and a great experience overall. I did the one day experience Dhaka like local tour and tried a few street food items. Next day I took the day trip to sonargao where I got to see an abandoned old city (my fav part of the trip). I’d highly recommend Rocky, not only because it’s a great tour but as an individual , he is passionate about his work, he reads his clientele and gives u precisely the amount of information that your brain can intake.
