Breng een ontspannen dag door met het verkennen van de wijnregio Dourovallei van Portugal met een Expert Gids tijdens deze dagtour vanuit Porto. We nemen je mee naar plaatsen die alleen een local kent, en je zult je zo voelen nadat je hebt geleerd van onze toegewijde gidsen. Ontdek de verbazingwekkende landschappen van de Douro-vallei, zijn wijnstijlen en minder bekende goederen in een kleine groepsreis tot 7 personen met slechts één taal. Bezoek 2 kleine familie Quintas / Wijnhuizen, lunch à la carte in een charmante wijnmakerij en proef enkele van de grote Douro DOC wijnen, evenals Ports. Leer de lokale bevolking kennen en ontspan terwijl u onderweg onvergetelijke kleine dorpjes vindt. We garanderen je dat je de druk niet voelt om te vertrekken, en ja, Douro Valley ziet er nog beter uit in levende lijve, maar geloof ons niet op ons woord, kom het zelf zien! Onze deskundige gids ontmoet u bij het standbeeld van Vimara Peres en neemt u, na een korte beschrijving van uw tourroute, mee naar de prachtige Douro-vallei.
Bezoek aan een kleine Quinta/wijnproducent met Douro DOC wijnproeverijen en olijfolie. Leer meer over het unieke karakter van wijnmaken in de Douro-vallei. Reis vervolgens langs de honderdjarige terrassen door het hart van de Douro-wijnstreek.
Reis door enkele historische kleine dorpjes in de Douro-vallei met een verbluffend uitzicht op de terrasvormige wijngaarden en ontmoet de lokale bevolking. Neem de tijd om wat foto's te maken op enkele van de mooiste uitzichtpunten.
Neem een paar minuten de tijd om een plaatselijk dorp te bezoeken en een drankje te drinken terwijl u meer te weten komt over de geschiedenis en cultuur van de plaats. Kijk verder dan de gevels en u zult versteld staan van wat u aantreft!
Je wordt gereden over een van de meest iconische stukken weg ter wereld, de N222, met een prachtig uitzicht op de terrasvormige heuvels.
U wordt uitgenodigd om te lunchen in een wijnmakerij (niet inbegrepen) en de Portugese wijnen en gerechten te ontdekken die op een eigentijdse manier worden gepresenteerd. Ontspan en geniet van jezelf! Wilt u liever ergens anders lunchen, laat het ons dan even weten bij de reservering.
Als je klaar bent met lunchen is het tijd om je te verdiepen in nog meer wijnen. Gezond verstand vertelt ons dat Port na een degelijke en stevige Portugese maaltijd een stuk soepeler naar beneden gaat. Zet je schrap voor meer Douro DOC- en Port-wijnen.
Na een buitengewone dag is het tijd om terug te keren naar Porto. Geniet van het luxe busje en ontspan. We vinden het niet erg als je snurkt; de chauffeur kan zich bij u voegen.

Highlight of our trip -the Douro Valley is a must visit area while in Porto! Joao, our guide was fantastic and so knowledgeable about all things Portugal! The boat ride was a highlight as well.

We had our first meal at a restaurant at a station on the Otani Kaigan-do Road. I ordered pasta with abalone and rapeseed from the seasonal menu. It was a dish that I was very satisfied with, and glad I chose, four and a half slices of abalone and shimeji and rapeseed mixed with the fragrant oil. Until now, I had not entered the roadside station restaurant expecting it, but I was very satisfied with the seasoning and ingredients, although they were not fresh pasta. Considering the cost, he was convinced that the amount of abalone was reasonable.

Andre was our tour guide today and we had a great time. He had fun facts to help fill the time on our way up to the valley and was very friendly. The stops we made were in the very pretty picturesque village of Amarante and two small wineries (one also produces olive oil). We’d never have been able to find them on our own and we wouldn’t have wanted to negotiate those windy curvy roads to get up there. Lunch was delicious, the company was wonderful and the valley is beautiful, I’d highly recommend this tour.

Me and my husband had João as a guide on July 25 2022 and we’re were very pleased with the whole experience. The guide who drove us, were very professional and had high knowledge about the district, the wines and the country. The pace was really nice, we’d time to really soak in the wineries and the enviroment of the Douro valley. Perfect with a chauffeur if you want to get a little boozed from the wine tasting and lunch. The roads are really tricky so I’d recommend have some else drive you if you’re not custom to steep, narrow European roads.

So glad we added this day trip at the last minute! My friend and I had very limited time, plus I do a lot of wine tastings coming from California. I was questioning whether a trip to Douro was worth it, vs. more time in Porto or the beach. Our guide was amazing and very knowledgeable about wine. He took us to a lovely lunch and visit to a small town. We loved the wine, the views, the people, all of it.
