Dit is een wijnreis om Monferrato te ontdekken: een van de meest sfeervolle en minst toeristische gebieden van Piemonte, rijk aan geschiedenis en fantastische wijnen. De eerste stop is een kleine, lokale wijnmakerij, waar ik je voorstel aan de wijnmaker en producent. Hij zal je rondleiden in zijn kelder, langs zijn wijnen en zijn productiefilosofie. Na het eerste bezoek luncht u in een traditioneel restaurant dat ik voor u heb uitgekozen. Daar kunt u typische Piemontese gerechten ontdekken en genieten van de rustige, lokale sfeer. Na een ontspannen lunchpauze vertrekken we weer naar een andere traditionele wijnmakerij. Nadat we het verhaal over de herontdekking van een eeuwenoude inheemse druivensoort hebben aangehoord, bezoeken we een oude ondergrondse kelder en proeven we samen met de producent hun meest klassieke wijnen. Overdag krijgen we de gelegenheid om over schilderachtige wegen te reizen, de charmante plekjes van Monferrato te bewonderen en de verborgen schatten van Piemonte te ontdekken.

Dit is een prachtig heuvelachtig gebied op slechts 30 minuten rijden van de stad Asti. U krijgt de gelegenheid om enkele van de oude druivensoorten te ontdekken die inheems zijn in dit gebied en een kleine producent en zijn eeuwenoude wijnkelder te bezoeken, gelegen boven in het oude dorp.
Een kort bezoek aan dit kleine, eeuwenoude dorpje in het hart van Monferrato. Geniet van een heerlijke lunch in een traditioneel restaurant en dompel jezelf onder in de vredige, lokale sfeer.
Net buiten het historische centrum van Moncalvo laat ik je een van de meest interessante kleine wijnproducenten uit de regio zien. Deze wijnmakerij, die zich richt op oude, lokale druivensoorten, een natuurlijke methode en lange rijping, is een absolute parel in de lokale wijnwereld. Je proeft deze unieke wijnen rechtstreeks uit de vaten, samen met de wijnmaker en zijn partner.

Nicola was incredibly accommodating. He took a special request and customized our tour. Nicola is well versed in wine. So if you want a higher level experience talking wine, he’s your guy. This experience could not have been any better. Highly recommend.
It was a fantastic and unique experience that is highly recommended. Cozy atmosphere and perfect for experiencing the fantastic wines from the area and the producers. The guide was unique and told us a lot about the area, the various wines and makes the experience was tailored to our wishes.
We had a perfect day in the Monferrato with Nic. The wineries he picked for us to visit were both very good and very different from another - but both small and very personal experiences. A great tour for anyone who wants to get away from the more popular sites in the region and see the area through a local’s eyes.
Spent the day wit Alessandro and he took up to the Nieve wine village for a tasting. Wines were amazing as well as the views. Really enjoyed Alessandro and his wine knowledge. I hope to do this again in 2 years

I had a wonderful day exploring the region with Nik. He is knowledgeable on the area and the wines. Even before we met he gave suggestions on places to eat, where to visit in the area. We visited 2 wineries and had a wonderful lunch in between. He’s also arranged the shipping of my wine. You can truly tell he’s passionate about what he does and wants to share his love with others. I can not recommend this tour enough. I will be telling anyone who visits to get in touch with Nik. I can’t wait to come back and do it again!
Our sommelier Nik was great! He is an Asti native and has traveled the world seeking even more knowledge about the wine industry. His English is excellent and he was able to translate quickly for us. Both wineries (away from the busy city) we visited were smaller, family owned (perfect for us!) so it was a very relaxing, intimate tour. He is able to have our wine (of course we bought some!) shipped to the US without a mountain of paperwork. We hope to see him in another country sampling wine!
Absolutely wonderful visits to two wineries, a classic and a small new one with a flair for creativity. Our guide, Nik, was a great companion and teacher and our hostesses at each winery, who Nik well, were very welcoming. They offered us excellent wines to taste and gave much of what, during harvest season, must have been precious time. This tour was great and absolutely worth the price.
Using Viator is a great tool to find wonderful guides, I have been using it for the past few years. We have never been to this region in Italy and to our delight we had the most wonderful guide, his name is Nicola. He was born in the area of Austin and is a sommelier.He’s very knowledgeable and passionate about his industry and takes good care of the local wine makers, both small and large. He came to our hotel, picked us up and provided us with much information, not just wine related. He stayed with us a whole entire day and has a lot of knowledge of food and wine. At the end of our tour, he went out of his way to show us downtown Asti and the cathedral which was not part of our tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is knowledgeable in wine or a beginner. The two wineries he picked were wonderful.
Highly recommend this wonderful trip and experience with Nik to gain a much better understanding, appreciation and taste for the wines of Monferrato. He is very knowledgeable and well connected with the local industry and allowed us to places we’d not have been able to find ourselves. From being in the wine cellar beneath the former summer home of the Italian king in the 1800s, or on a hill by a small ancient country church overlooking the miles of vineyards, this tour had it all. Our guide knew so much about not just wine but the history of the area and the picturesque villages that make it all up. Our lunch stop was very memorable as well, plenty of time for a leisurely enjoyment of delicious food and wine in a peaceful Italian village in the countryside. Can’t say enough wonderful things about Nik and his tour, definitely don’t pass this up if you’d love a day immersed in the history and wine of this beautiful Piedmont region!

We had a chance to visit two lovely wineries in the beautiful Monferrante area. Nic, our guide, was wonderful, knowledgeable, and very generous with his time. He organized a lunch in a restaurant that offered a spectacular scenery with very traditional and authentic food that was absolutely delicious. All in all, we had a fabulous day in the wine country.
