Deze kleine groepsreis lijkt veel op onze bekroonde "Austin Small Group Morning Walk", maar misschien nog wel beter! Net als de ochtendwandeling behandelen we Austin's must see favorieten zoals het interieur van het Driskill Hotel. De middagwandeling is echter iets langer met 2 uur en heeft bonussen zoals: een bezoek aan Tito's Wodka retail / geschiedenis winkel op Lavaca Street, een wandeling langs de oevers van Ladybird Lake Trail, en het ontdekken van de schoonheid van de iconische Rainey Street wijk. We geven je zelfs de tijd om te verkennen! Deze tour geeft je de ervaring van hoe we ervoor zouden kiezen om de dag door te brengen als mensen die de stad kennen en ervan houden. Kortom, je krijgt geweldige aanbevelingen!

Je tour ontmoet en vertrekt vanuit Love, Tito's op de historische Lavaca St., in het centrum van Austin. Deze bijzondere winkel is de enige winkel voor Austin's enige echte Tito's Vodka! Tito's is nu een wereldwijde sensatie en begon hier in de omgeving van Austin. De behulpzame en vriendelijke medewerkers van Love, Tito's delen graag zowel het succes als de diepe wortels van Tito's verhaal. Opening om 11:00 uur, dit is de perfecte plek om ons Austin-avontuur te beginnen! Sorry, geen gratis Tito's samples :)
Het standbeeld van Willie, dat trots voor het Moody Theatre staat, is een iconische weergave van waarom Austin bekend staat als de "Live Music Capital of America". Naast het standbeeld is er op dit kruispunt een gegoten bronzen kaart die details laat zien van "oude Austin" en de omliggende watermassa's. Een uitgelezen kans om onze rondreis de juiste historische context te geven!
Je privéwandeling door Austin neemt je mee langs een schilderachtig deel van het Lady Bird Lake-wandelpad. Slechts een korte mooie wandeling van de Congress Ave.-brug (ook bekend als Bat Bridge) naar het historische Rainey St. District. Tijdens je wandeling zal je gids je alles vertellen, van details over de beroemde Austin-vleermuizen tot de geschiedenis van de aken en veerboten van Austin vóór het tijdperk van ijzeren bruggen. Dit is een prachtige schaduwrijke toevoeging aan je tour met een spectaculair uitzicht op de skyline van de stad en natuurlijk Lady Bird Lake. :-)
Het Rainey Street District is een van de best bewaarde geheimen van Austin! Het is een eclectische combinatie van torenhoge nieuwe appartementen en charmante huisjes en bungalows. Deze schilderachtige kleine woningen waren vroeger privéwoningen in Austin, maar dienen nu als een van de beste en zeker leukste restaurants en brouwerijen in de stad! Terwijl je in het Rainey District bent, kun je een drankje pakken of een geweldige foodtruck eten bij de "Stay Put Brewery". Dit is een bekroonde brouwerij met nabijgelegen toegang tot enkele van de beste vrachtwagenmaaltijden in de stad!
Het huis van de grote Amerikaanse auteur William Sydney Porter, ook bekend als O 'Henry, ligt nabij het hart van de binnenstad en is een korte stop om het verhaal van O' Henry en zijn leven hier in Austin in de jaren 1880 te erkennen.
Naast het huis van O' Henry staat het voormalige huis van onze lokale held, Susanna Dickinson, de enige overlevende van de Alamo (1836). Op deze plek vertellen we over de moed van Susanna die niet alleen de Alamo overleefde, maar ook haar dochter Angelina wist te redden!
Tijdens je wandelavontuur door het centrum van Austin, ervaar je twee blokken van de wereldberoemde "Dirty 6th Street"! Bijna alle winkelpuien op East 6th dateren uit de jaren 1870 en 1880. Onze goed geïnformeerde gidsen zullen je zeker wijzen op de coolste plekken voor eten en natuurlijk livemuziek !!
De Driskill is een prachtig voorbeeld van de vergulde tijd in Austin. Dit prachtige en historische hotel staat trots aan de rand van East 6th sinds de voltooiing ervan in 1886. Na een rondleiding door de hotellobby kunnen gasten die daarvoor kiezen een drankje kopen in de Driskill bar and grill. Een perfecte manier om uw privéwandeling door de hoofdstad te beëindigen!

Possibly one of the best tours I've been on in years. Tyler is a fantastic storyteller, giving a thorough deep-dive into the history of Austin. A lengthy, walking tour, but totally worth learning about the history of the city, while touring locations throughout the city. Meet-up point was easy to get to, there's a parking garage located next door, as well as a Starbucks on the corner across from Love, Tito's. There's food and drink options along the way, very cool way to experience a snapshot into Austin's downtown. Tour is safe, travel in an intimate group, and gave me a look into the city that exceeded my expectations. I definitely would love to come back and spend more time, but only had this 1 day to enjoy the city. p.s. bring water and wear comfortable walking shoes!

Two years ago we participated in a food and tour event in Mobile Alabama. That was a tour that included in the cost samples from a number of different restaurants in downtown Mobile We thought this was going to be a similar experience but it was different which was disappointing Perhaps we missed that when we read the material. Tyler did a good job showing us around downtown Austin

Our guide was full of historical knowledge which helped make the tour very enjoyable. Walking through the old neighborhoods and seeing the new skyscrapers in the background was a sight to see! Austin is a nice city to visit.

My teenage son and I were the only ones on our afternoon walking tour with Tyler. He was friendly, knowledgeable, takes pride in Austin, and paced the tour just right for us. Our fave parts were the walk along the water (even though there was a lot of noisy construction all around), stepping into the historic Driscoll Hotel, and the most delicious hidden taco restaurant we would have never stumbled upon without Tyler (Taqueria de Diez). He answered all our questions, had some good stories, and made sure there wasn’t anything we still wanted to know about before the tour ended. We asked for an ice cream shop recommendation and he suggested Amy’s Ice Creams (where my son and I walked after our tour and it was another superb place!)
