Uw tour begint met vervoer vanuit Krakau (gekozen ontmoetingspunt). Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is gevestigd in de stad Oswiecim, ongeveer 1u15min in een manier (65km). Elke chauffeur waarmee we samenwerken heeft alle EU-toestemmingen voor personenvervoer. Een Engels sprekende en vriendelijke leider van de groep zal u helpen wanneer u maar wilt. Na aankomst in Oswiecim, neem een korte pauze om een kopje koffie te drinken of een oogje te houden op tentoonstellingen in de buitenlucht. Laat u dan vriendelijk voorstellen aan uw lokale en professionele gids die een vergunning heeft van Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
Begin je tour door door de poort te lopen naar het eerste kamp - Auschwitz I - oorspronkelijk ontworpen als een concentratiekamp, om te worden gebruikt als detentiecentrum voor de vele Poolse burgers die werden gearresteerd nadat Duitsland het land in 1939 had geannexeerd, met het meest herkenbare bord Arbeit Macht Frei (Werk maakt je vrij). Dit onderdeel duurt meestal 2 uur en je gebruikt een headset om je gids duidelijk te horen. De groep telt volgens de regels van het Museum tot 30 personen, waardoor het bezoek comfortabel en toegankelijk is voor elke deelnemer. Bezoek de originele houten gebouwen, versterkte muren, prikkeldraad, gaskamers en crematoria - ze laten allemaal een schokkende indruk achter waardoor je je de omvang van de Holocaust kunt voorstellen.
Na het 1e kamp is er een korte pauze van maximaal 15 minuten gepland. Je wordt door ons meegenomen om het tweede deel van de tour te bezoeken - Birkenau (Auschwitz II), op slechts 3 minuten afstand, het grootste kamp dat is gebouwd en geëxploiteerd met het specifieke doel om Europa ''Judenrein'' (vrij van Joden) te maken ). Dezelfde gids vervolgt een aangrijpende lezing over het kamp in het dorp Brzezinka (Birkenau) dat in 1941 in opdracht van Heinrich Himmler (SS-commandant) werd gebouwd en ongeveer 90.000 gevangenen kon bevatten. U krijgt te horen over verschrikkelijke verhalen over onvoorstelbaar leven omstandigheden evenals wrede selectie en pseudo-wetenschappelijke medische experimenten uitgevoerd door prominente nazi-artsen, waaronder Josef Mengele. Een geschiedenis over soldaten van het 60e leger van het Eerste Oekraïense Front opende de poorten van Auschwitz op 27 januari 1945, wat de definitieve bevrijding betekende, eindigt je tour met een gevoel, zowel deze genocide had nooit mogen gebeuren en het kan niet meer gebeuren .
Vervoer van Birkenau naar Wieliczka, duurt ongeveer 90 minuten. Jouw tijd voor een dutje.
Wanneer de tour eindigt, wordt u niet door ons gehaast. Neem een paar minuten pauze die u kunt doorbrengen in een boekhandel, supermarkt of gewoon rusten. Daarna wordt u naar een vooraf bepaald adres in Krakau gebracht.
De tocht begint met een afdaling van 64 meter via trappen. Je wordt dan door een aantal kamers geleid en krijgt ondergrondse meren, heiligdommen en zoutmonumenten te zien. De reis eindigt op het niveau van 135 meter onder het oppervlak en de terugkeer naar het oppervlak is per lift. Een standaard rondleiding door de zoutmijn duurt 2-3 uur en bezoekers lopen via een 3,5 kilometer lange toeristische route.

- BEZOEK: Beide musea worden dagelijks door honderden mensen bezocht. Het is niet mogelijk om uw eigen tempo aan sightseeing te houden. Tijdens hun verblijf in de kampen moeten bezoekers zich gepast en respectvol gedragen. Kledingvoorschrift is smart casual, om de plaats te respecteren. Eten en roken, maar ook luid handelen is in beide musea verboden.
- OPHALEN: Geef tijdens het boeken uw adres in Krakau op. Sommige hotels in Krakau bevinden zich in verkeersluwe zones. Uw ophaalservice wordt georganiseerd vanaf het dichtstbijzijnde mogelijke punt en u wordt hiervan op de hoogte gebracht.
- VERTREK: De uren die je boekt zijn onder voorbehoud en kunnen wijzigen. De duur van de transfers is bij benadering, de exacte duur hangt af van het tijdstip en de verkeersomstandigheden. De exacte ophaaltijd wordt een dag voor de tour bevestigd (uiterlijk 's middags).
- DOCUMENTEN: Aangezien het verplicht is in het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum om uw persoonlijke gegevens te bevestigen, bent u verplicht om de volledige namen van alle deelnemers in de reservering te vermelden en om uw paspoort of identiteitsbewijs mee te nemen dat bij de ingang van het museum kan worden gecontroleerd. Anders mag je het museum misschien niet in.
- TASFORMAAT: Houd er rekening mee dat u het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum niet mag betreden met grote tassen of rugzakken. De maximaal toegestane afmeting is 30 cm x 20 cm x 10 cm. U kunt uw koffers achterlaten bij de auto die tijdens uw bezoek op slot is.
- LUNCH: Je gaat op een dagtour die ongeveer 10 uur duurt. Er wordt geen reguliere lunch aangeboden, dus we raden aan om snacks mee te nemen. U kunt bij het boeken ook lunchen als extra optie.
- VEILIGHEID: wees voorbereid om door een veiligheidscontrole te gaan (vergelijkbaar met die van de luchthaven) om het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum binnen te gaan.
- WEER: We werken in alle weersomstandigheden. Tot 70% van de tijd breng je buiten door (vooral in Auschwitz II Birkenau). Breng op zonnige dagen geschikte kleding en water mee. De temperatuur in de mijn ligt rond de 14 graden Celsius.
- KINDEREN: Kinderen moeten worden vergezeld door een volwassene. Kinderzitjes zijn beschikbaar. Een bezoek aan het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum kan traumatisch zijn, daarom raden we aan dat bezoekers minstens 13 jaar oud zijn.
- FOTO'S: In de zoutmijn kost de toestemming voor fotografie 10 PLN. Kan ter plaatse worden gekocht. In Auschwitz mogen bezoekers over het algemeen foto's maken met een paar, duidelijk aangegeven uitzonderingen. Het maken van foto's in de gebouwen met gebruik van flits is verboden.

Our tour guide Lucas was very knowledgeable and extremely sensitive and respectful in telling the story he told of the people that lost their lives in Auschwitz. Salt mines and Auschwitz in one day, a highly recommended combination to take advantage of our three days in Krakow. We booked the tour in English with the departure at 6:00, because they were no longer in Spanish. The bus passed on time, at 5:40, as we were warned a few days earlier. Nothing heavy was done. The 800 steps of the mines are easily lowered. At 5:30 p.m. we were back in town. The excursion is well worth getting up early, so you don’t find so many visiting groups. The visit to Auschwitz should be done even if there are only tours left in Polish (you can always opt for an audio guide that you have downloaded before). On the way to the salt mine we changed buses and drivers, but everything very agile and very well controlled. The staff at the company were very attentive. We can’t talk the same about the official Auschwitz guide who accompanied us during the visit, but this is not up to the company. We still can’t overlook him: he spoke very, very, very slowly. With all the time we spent together, I could have passed on a lot more information (we haven’t taken that into account in our assessment). In conclusion, despite having a somewhat high price, we were very satisfied with both the treatment and the contracted product.

The place is a memorial to the poor people who perished there, and hopefully it will be there for ever as a reminder for future generations. Our visit was ruined by a poor guide. She didn't seem to realise that not everyone could walk at her speed, so by the time we caught up, the talk was over and we learned nothing. This happened on three or four occasions. On another three occasions the guide decided to miss out parts of the tour by going downstairs when there were still rooms upstairs to see. We were promised a detailed talk about the deeds of Josef Mengele further round the tour, I've been home 2 days and I'm still waiting. If someone asked a question the guide would walk away with the person who asked, and just gave answers to them, there was no group involvement. Her talks were very monotone and there was no emotion in her descriptions. I left underwhelmed with emotion rather than full of emotion, sadness and tears, which I was expecting. Hopefully you will get a different guide and be better served.

A long day but a good full day trip to both the Salt Mine and Auschwitz 1 & 11. We took a packed lunch to make the most of the short break. Vehicles were small and comfortable. Drivers were friendly and knowledgeable. The guides at both sites were excellent. We had individual head phones to hear each guide. A good way to see both places in one day.

Full day - but worth the time. I would recommend this full day covering two sites, as with short city trips there’s not a lot time to get the full experience of the city.

Absolutely terrible experience with Hello Cracow, particularly the driver Michal and Patrycja (via WhatsApp). The pickup time was changed from 6:00am to 5:40am at short notice. Despite this, the driver left before the agreed time. At 5:41am, Michal rang my phone and immediately hung up when I answered. It appeared to be an attempt to create evidence of a “missed call” rather than genuinely trying to contact us, even though we were at the agreed location. Afterwards, I received multiple messages on WhatsApp claiming we didn’t arrive until 5:55am. This is completely untrue. I provided my Google Timeline as proof that we were there on time, but this was dismissed. We spent a significant amount of money on this booking and were refused a refund. The only solution offered was that we could pay additional money to go the following day. Given what had already happened, we had no confidence that the service would be fulfilled properly, so we declined. Appalling customer service and no accountability. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.
We booked the Auschwitz and Salt Mines tour with Hello Cracow, with a confirmed meeting point at Wielopole 2 at 5:40am. At no point during the booking process was it stated that we needed to arrive 5–10 minutes early. We arrived at 5:40am exactly, as instructed. We were directly across the road from the pickup point, waiting for traffic and trams to pass so that we could cross safely. At 5:40am, we messaged Hello Cracow on WhatsApp to inform them we were there and crossing. At 5:41am, we received a call from the tour guide, Michał. We answered immediately — and he hung up instantly without speaking to us. Within seconds, we saw the bus drive away. We were no more than 10 seconds from the pickup point. If Michał had simply stayed on the line for even a few seconds, he would have known we were directly across the road and arriving safely. Instead, it appears the phone call was made purely to “tick a box” to say an attempt at contact was made before leaving. We then spent the next 30 minutes calling and messaging both Michał and Hello Cracow on WhatsApp with absolutely no response. Other buses continued to arrive at the stop, which added to the confusion, and we waited in good faith believing there had been some mistake. This level of service is completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional for a well-known tour company in Krakow. Leaving customers behind at the exact scheduled time — without speaking to them, without warning that early arrival was required, and without responding to repeated calls — is not reasonable behaviour. We were awake before 5am and incredibly excited for this tour. Instead, our day was ruined due to poor communication and a complete lack of basic customer care. Given that: * We were present at the scheduled time. * There was no instruction requiring early arrival. * We answered the guide’s call immediately. * We made repeated attempts to contact the company with no response. We expect a full refund for this tour. The situation was entirely avoidable and was not due to negligence on our part. We are extremely disappointed with how this was handled and hope the company takes responsibility for what was clearly a failure in communication and professionalism. Also on this booking it gives the impression that it’s a small mini bus or van tour - it is not it’s a massive coach so don’t be fooled
