Je tour begint in de grootste stad van Nieuw-Zeeland. Terwijl we de stad uitrijden, zal uw gids niet alleen het decor vormen voor uw avontuur van vandaag, maar u ook wijzen en u langs enkele van de belangrijkste hoogtepunten van de stad leiden.
Bij het verlaten van Auckland reizen we naar het zuiden door het prachtige platteland van Waikato, het meest uitgestrekte landbouwgebied ter wereld, waar we onderweg prachtige landschappen, machtige rivieren, geweldige fotomomenten, indrukwekkende bergen en een verscheidenheid aan boerderijdieren tegenkomen.
– Aangekomen bij de eerste feature attractie ‘Hobbiton’ stap je aan boord van een van de grote groene Hobbiton bussen en vertrek je op een twee en een half uur durende volledig Gids tour van deze geweldige 12 hectare grote filmset, met een professionele Hobbiton gids om ervoor te zorgen dat je het meeste uit je bezoek haalt. Tijdens uw tour stap in de weelderige weiden van de Gouw, bezoek 44 hobbit holes, zie prachtige tuinen, hoor de geheimen en verhalen over het maken van de films en geniet van een koud gratis drankje in de beroemde Hobbiton pub 'The Green Dragon pension'.
Vertrekkend naar Rotorua passeren we Tirau op ons avontuur. Deze stad wordt ook wel de 'Golfijzerhoofdstad van de wereld' genoemd vanwege de vele unieke golfijzersculpturen en gebouwen. Het blijft altijd leuk om een kijkje te nemen en te lachen en onze gidsen zullen u onderweg alle belangrijke hoogtepunten aanwijzen.
Eenmaal in Rotorua zet je gids je af bij je accommodatie in Rotorua (alleen centraal gelegen hotels) of op een centrale locatie in Rotorua.

*Als er geen pick-up is geselecteerd op het moment van boeken, krijgt u ons standaard ontmoetingspunt toegewezen (SkyCity Hotel). U bent van harte welkom om dit op elk moment te updaten. Als uw locatie er niet bij staat, kies dan uw dichtstbijzijnde beschikbare optie en ontmoet ons daar. *Pick-ups kunnen beginnen tot 20 minuten voor de tour vertrektijd, afhankelijk van de locatie. Om een vlotte start te garanderen, gelieve buiten 5 minuten voor uw specifieke ophaaltijd klaar te staan en te wachten. *Pick-up locaties zijn zorgvuldig gepland voor elke tour en kan variëren per dag. Als uw ophaallocatie verandert, verzoeken wij u dit vooraf aan ons door te geven. *Onze gidsen maken meerdere stops en kunnen binnen een tijdsbestek van 10 minuten aankomen. We kunnen niet wachten op late gasten.

Lovely tour. Very punctual and hospitable. Grant took care of me and others anwering any questions and prepping for all contingencies from traffic to your times while still allowing time for shopping and even a Hokey Pokey stop. He's kind, patient and extremely efficient and knowledgeable about the area and even have recommendations for other restaurants and experiences. Hobbiton to was well handled all around and a great experience especially for fans of the movies. Had a great day overall and thanks again to Grant for making it particularly special!

Just an unbelievable adventure. Such a bucket list thing to do for any Lord of The Rings fan! This is some of the most spectacular views anyone will ever see on their lives. A must do!
We had a great experience with Cheeky Kiwi Travel. Geoff was our guide and he was engaged with the group the entire time and very organized. Prior to pickup, everyone was added on whatsapp and given time updates. He also talked a lot about local things on our ride to Hobbiton. We booked with another company for the return trip from Rotorura (due to availability) and the difference was definitely noticeable! Would definitely recommend Cheeky Kiwi and their attention to detail and clear communication.

We used this tour to see Hobbiton and reposition from Auckland to our next Airbnb in Rotorua. Our guide Geoff made the drive go by fast by telling us lots of information about the sights we passed and the country in general. Hobbiton is not to be missed, especially if you’re a fan of Lord of the Rings - but really interesting for almost anyone. This was our 2nd experience with the Cheeky team - you can’t go wrong with these guys!

I highly recommend this full day trip starting w a visit to the hobbiton movie set. We were so lucky it didn't rain until the very end of the day. No need to bring your breakfast or lunch as you can get it at the shires rest cafe, a huge range of food available and not expensive. Our driver, Matt, was super knowledgeable, helpful, professional and efficient. He even showed us things to do and places to visit when we arrived at Rotorua and pointed out where i needed to catch the intercity bus. Our next stop was wai-o-tapu the thermal wonderland. You have plenty of time to do the full walk around the geothermal park and take heaps of pictures, no need to rush. The track is clearly marked but there are a lot of stairs up and down if you do tracks 2 and 3. Theres a cafe and giftshop. A great day highly recommended, in fact i recommend any cheeky kiwi tour i have done quite a few and they're all friendly and professional.
