Begin uw dag met een hotel pick-up in San Ignacio, het levendige centrum van het westen van Belize. Ontmoet je Gids en ga op een schilderachtige rit door het weelderige Cayo District. Wat mee te nemen - Gesloten-teen schoenen met stevige grip (wordt nat) - Zwempak (onder T-shirt en short) – kleed je bescheiden - Sokken (vereist voor de droge kamer vanwege conservering) - Handdoek en volledige verandering van kleding (blijft in het voertuig) - Milieuvriendelijk insectenwerend en zonnebrandmiddel - Herbruikbare waterfles - Kleine droge tas of rugzak (blijft buiten grot-Zal nat worden) Door de overheid uitgegeven ID (kan digitaal zijn) Lichte snacks (lunch voorzien rond 13.00 uur) Geen camera's, telefoons of elektronica toegestaan in de grot. Deze regel wordt strikt gehandhaafd door de Belize regering voor de bescherming van de grot.
Passeer door het rustige dorpje Teakettle, waar uw Gids verhalen vertelt over het lokale leven en de geschiedenis van deze riviergemeenschap voordat u verder gaat naar Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve. Optionele stop in waterkoker voor snacks op aanvraag.
Kom aan naast het Tapir Mountain Nature reserve en maak je klaar met de benodigde apparatuur die door ons wordt geleverd. Er zijn toiletten en kleedkamers beschikbaar op de parkeerplaats.
Grotverkenning & Maya-artefacten Ga op een onvergetelijk avontuur diep in Belize's legendarische Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave. Begin uw reis met een schilderachtige junglewandeling en ondiepe rivieroversteekplaatsen voordat u de kristalheldere ingang van de grot binnenzwemt. Binnen ontdek je een betoverende ondergrondse wereld vol glinsterende stalactieten en stalagmieten. Verlaat de grot, loop door weelderig bos terug naar de parkeerplaats om droge kleding aan te trekken en geniet van een picknicklunch aan de rivieroever met versnaperingen.

Wij bieden gratis pick-up van elke locatie die is minder dan 15 minuten afstand van San Ignacio. Houd er rekening mee dat er een extra vergoeding kan zijn als uw pick-up verder weg is. Van de vergoeding kan echter worden afgezien als deze onderweg is. Gelieve bij de receptie van uw hotel of bij de ingang van uw air b n b voor pick-up. Als je vragen of opmerkingen hebt, neem dan gerust contact met ons op via onze Whatsapp of bel ons voor dringende hulp. This was such an amazing experience!! James was an exceptional tour guide. He was knowledgeable in so many areas (e.g. history, architecture, etc) and provided us with great information. We would recommend this tour 100%. Once in a lifetime experience!

This truly was a once in a lifetime experience. The cave is in excellent condition & then to see and learn about how the ancient Myan peoples used the cave was so interesting. This was an athletic adventure with some very tight spaces and is not something people with limited mobility. James our guide was informed and passionate about the sharing this experience with others.

We had the best time! Ruwa Tours took excellent care of us and our guide, Eric, was amazing. The lunch was fantastic. I recommend asking for an earlier pick up time, as the cave can get crowded.

Bernadine was AMAZING! As soon as we started the walk to the caves, she is so knowledgeable and it felt like we were listening to a podcast or audio book with how well she explained the history of the region. Then in the cave she did such a remarkable job of making sure we felt safe and described all that was to be seen. The tour never felt rushed and she truly made it a wonderful experience.

This is a somewhat physical trip. There is a hike to the cave entrance with 3 water crossings along the way. You are on foot and the water can get about chest high for an average adult. You are equipt with a helmet, headlamp and life jacket and there are ropes to guide you across the water. Then the entrance of the cave is accessed by swimming or wading in water before you begin your roughly 90 min tour of the cave. There is some mild climbing and wading through the water as you move deeper into the cave. Your guide will point out points of interest along the way. There is a lot of information to take in along the way and lots of history about the Mayan artifacts and remains found in the cave. All very interesting and fun to learn about as you twist your way through the cave. I have been in several other caves but this Good experience is unique as you are guided through certain areas of the cave and climbing across other parts to access all of the point of interest. Very unique and differ them all of the other caves I have been in before. You are required to have a guide in order to access the game. They were all well trained and well educated about the cave itself and keep safety and reservation of the cave as a top priority. If you like adventure and something that's a little off the beaten path. This is a great experience. Very unique.

Great experience! James was excellent. Geology, mythology, philosophy, human history… and (wet, dark, tight, beautiful) caving, oh my! Be sure to book the first available tour of the day as the site gets crowded, slow and more touristy / less magical as the day goes on!

Ruwa helped me and my husband plan a 7-day Belize trip and they did an amazing job from start to finish. They customized the entire package for us and took care of everything, including a beachfront hotel and all our transportation/shuttles. The attention to detail really showed. We never had to worry about anything, everything just flowed. We had such a great time in Belize! We loved being immersed in the culture, trying local foods (like delicious pupusas!), and exploring beautiful sights. The highlight of our trip was definitely the ATM cave tour. It was one of the most unique things we have ever done. I loved the mix of hiking through the jungle and swimming into the cave. Seeing the ancient artifacts still in place and learning about the Maya culture made it feel like stepping into another world. Our guide, Akim, was very knowledgable and explained a lot about the history that made the experience all the more interesting and special. Phones weren't allowed at the ATM cave but the team shared some pictures with us after. Throughout the trip, our coordinator Maya stayed in touch with us and was so friendly and quick to respond. She checked in on us, helped with any questions we had, and made sure everything was running smoothly. I would definitely recommend Ruwa Travels and we already plan on using them again for our next visit to Belize.
