De Akropolis, die Athene bekroont, is een oude citadel op een heuveltop waar prachtige tempels, zoals het Parthenon, de blijvende erfenis van het klassieke Griekenland onthullen.
Wind langs de rij en ervaar de spanning van het zien van het Theater van Dionysus, waar vele beroemde oude komedies en tragedies voor het eerst werden opgevoerd.
Ga verder naar het Romeinse Herodion-theater dat werd gebouwd ter nagedachtenis aan de vrouw van Herodes Atticus.
Klim naar de poort van de Akropolis, de Propylaea.
Geniet van het uitzicht op de tempel van Athena Nike.
Loop naar het Parthenon dat was gewijd aan de godin Athena, de patrones van de stad Athene. Bewonder dit 5e-eeuwse hoogtepunt van de Dorische ordearchitectuur.
Zie ten slotte het Erechtheion, een uniek architectonisch meesterwerk, voornamelijk vanwege de asymmetrische compositie, en de steunen bevatten 6 gebeeldhouwde vrouwelijke figuren.

- Voor de optie zonder toegangskaarten koopt de activiteitenaanbieder de tickets vooraf voor u om wachtrijen te voorkomen, dus neem wat contant geld mee. Anders kunt u de tickets zelf kopen, maar zorg ervoor dat u op tijd op het ontmoetingspunt bent om de tour te laten beginnen zoals geprogrammeerd
- Entreekaarten (als u de optie selecteert inclusief toegangskaarten) moeten door de gids in papieren vorm worden overhandigd op de datum en tijd van het bezoek, op het ontmoetingspunt.
- Tijdens groepsreizen kunnen we de lift naar de Akropolis niet gebruiken
- Baby's moeten door hun begeleidende volwassene worden gedragen, aangezien kinderwagens niet zijn toegestaan in de Akropolis.
- Alle kinderen moeten gedurende de hele tour worden begeleid door een verantwoordelijke volwassene.
- Deze tour omvat ongeveer een mijl wandelen over oneffen terrein, met bergop en bergaf, evenals ongeveer 200 stappen.

This sunday , one of my biggest dreams came true. As a Georgian, I grew up learning and listening to stories about ancient Greek mythology — the stories of Poseidon, Hades, Hermes, Zeus, their relationships, and their children. These stories have always fascinated me and have been a part of my imagination since childhood. This trip was a birthday gift because I had always dreamed of seeing the Caryatids with my own eyes. Today, that dream finally came true. I had the chance to see these magnificent women, some of the most beautiful and remarkable creations of the ancient world. At first, I thought I didn’t need a guide because I already knew so much about the history — what everything was, why it was built, and what had happened to these ancient sites over time. However, hiring a guide turned out to be the best decision I could have made. Our guide didn’t just explain the history; he brought every place to life. It felt as if I was witnessing the tragedies that happened there, seeing how patients were treated in ancient times, and standing among the great minds of history. It felt as if Aristotle and Plato were right there with us. I could almost imagine Poseidon himself demanding that a temple be built in his honor, threatening to flood the city if it wasn’t — a myth that has always made me smile and fascinated me. The museum doesn’t need 2 hours. Neither does Acropolis . Maybe give options of quick museum or detailed museum as our WHOLE group was checked out or tired of too much talking and info. To each their own. Our guide was amazing and she was kind, friendly and thorough. We love Lydia 🥰🤗 thank you Lydia. Acropolis is beautiful and not too hard to walk up as it seems from the bottom.

Chrysa led a great tour of the Acropolis! We did not do the museum, but we got a really good understanding of the history and architecture of Athens’s hilltop.
