Verken de hoogtepunten van Athene in slechts enkele uren op deze privétour met privévoertuig. Ons eerste bezoek is aan de Akropolis en de archeologische site eromheen.Het panoramische uitzicht over de hoofdstad vanaf de Heilige Rots is uniek. Op de historische heuvel heeft u de mogelijkheid om het Odeon van Herodes Atticus, de Tempel van de Athena Nike, de monumentale poort (Propylaea), het Erechtheum en natuurlijk het beroemde Parthenon te zien, de belangrijkste tempel gewijd aan de maagdelijke godin Athena.
Vervolgens gaan we naar het Panathenaic Stadium, waar in 1896 de eerste moderne Olympische Spelen werden gehouden.
Bij Lycabettus Hill kunt u genieten van een prachtig panoramisch uitzicht over Athene, waaronder bezienswaardigheden zoals de Akropolis en de Egeïsche Zee. Omgeven door weelderig groen, biedt deze serene plek een perfecte plek om te ontspannen, te dineren en adembenemende foto's van de stad hieronder te maken.
Vervolgens bezoeken we de unieke architectonische monumenten in het stadscentrum, bekend als de Atheense Trilogie (Nationale Bibliotheek – Universiteit – Academie van Athene).
Onderweg gaan we naar de Oude Agora, het hart van het openbare leven in oude Griekse steden. Het gebied van de oude Agora omvat enkele van de belangrijkste monumenten van Athene, zoals de Tempel van Hephaistos, het Altaar van de Twaalf Goden, de Apollon Patroos, de Kerk van de Heilige Apostelen en meer
Vervolgens rijden we langs de Nationale Tuin, zien we de wisseling van de wacht (euzones) voor het oude paleis, dat vandaag Parlementsgebouw is, boven het centrale plein van Athene, Syntagma en vervolgens naar het Monument van de Onbekende Soldaat voor het Griekse Parlement, waar u foto's kunt maken met de soldaten in traditionele Griekse kledij.
Bezoek de majestueuze tempel van Olympische Zeus, ooit de grootste tempel van Griekenland. Opgedragen aan Zeus, de koning van de Olympische goden, duurde het meer dan 600 jaar om dit kolossale bouwwerk te voltooien. Hoewel er nog maar een paar torenhoge zuilen over zijn, zijn de omvang en grandeur van de tempel ontzagwekkend. Als je tussen deze oude ruïnes staat, krijg je een idee van het belang van de tempel in de oudheid en zijn rol in het religieuze leven van Athene.

We booked a private 5-hour Athens tour, and Margaret was wonderful. The weather was horrible and we had a very limited time before we caught our flight back to Crete, yet Margaret made it great with her master driving in chaotic Athens, and she was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. Got the hotel pickup option and it was great. Giannis was on time and his van was clean and comfortable, He took us to all the highlights, which was great, but made even better by his flexibility on times at the various places. We ended up spending more time at the Olympic stadium but still made it to the changing of the guard right on time. When he dropped us at the Acropolis for our separate tour, he kept in touch with WhatsApp messages. You don't get the tour commentary, but you'll have fun!
