Tijdens onze Assisi Day Tour krijg je de kans om meer te weten te komen over de geschiedenis van St. Franciscus en van de christelijke wereld. Je Engelssprekende chauffeur haalt je op bij je accommodatie en brengt je rechtstreeks naar Assisi op het ontmoetingspunt met je privé-gelicentieerde gids, die je rondleidt voor een bezoek van 2 uur aan een van de beroemdste christelijke locaties van Italië. Dit is een prachtige en vredige ervaring, waar je al je zintuigen zult regenereren. De regio Umbrië is ook een belangrijke bestemming voor liefhebbers van eten en wijn, dus in Assisi heb je ook de kans om de lokale gerechten en de beroemde heerlijke wijn te proeven! Je dagtour begint wanneer je Engelssprekende chauffeur je direct bij je accommodatie in Rome ophaalt. Je wordt met chauffeur naar de prachtige stad Assisi gebracht, de geboorteplaats van S. Francesco.
Bij uw aankomst in Assisi ontmoet u uw Engelssprekende, erkende gids. Je begint aan een begeleide reis naar de meest magische basilieken en locaties van Assisi. De religieuze stad die bekend staat als de geboorteplaats van Sint-Franciscus heeft prachtige kerken, waaronder de Sint-Franciscusbasiliek waar de overblijfselen van de heilige worden bewaard, en is ook de thuisbasis van ingewikkelde fresco's geschilderd door Giotto en Cimabue. Met je gids ga je de basiliek binnen en zul je geamuseerd worden door de schoonheid en de rust van deze plek. Kijk eens naar de basiliek van Santa Chiara, je bereikt Piazza del Comune met de Minerva-tempel. Je hebt een extern uitzicht op het Palazzo dei Priori, het huis van de vader van San Frencis, vele kleine straatjes, pleinen en middeleeuwse locaties. Als er tijd over is, stop dan even bij de prachtige kerk van Santa Maria degli Angeli en vervolg je tocht langs de kleine straatjes van het centrum van Assisi.

WOW!!! Our driver Beatrice was outstanding; we couldn’t imagine anything more one could hope for. She was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and kind, with an infectious enthusiasm. Her range of knowledge was impressive, from antiquity to religious to political. Her lunch recommendation was excellent, she anticipated our desire by making us a reservation ahead of time.

Trip was executed perfectly. Pickup at hotel (AirBnB) was flawless. Guide was informative and ensured that we saw everything we expected to see. Only suggestion for improvement would be to allow a few extra minutes to shop some of the excellent-looking stores that Assisi offers.

It was the first tour we took during our stay in Rome. Beautiful tour which is worth doing. Alex our driver very professional and always punctual gave us info along the way. In Assisi we met our tour guide Maria Rita. She was amazing with loads of detailed info. This tour was not our first with Great Italy. They never disappoint. We thank Maurizio, Alessio, Olena and each member of the team who take great care in finalizing each detail of the programme.
