Vertrek vanuit Rome voor een reis om drie heilige plaatsen in Umbrië te ontdekken. Een comfortabel minibusje haalt u op bij uw hotel of appartement in Rome en brengt u naar Assisi, de geboorteplaats van Sint Franciscus. Je bezoekt de Basiliek van Santa Maria degli Angeli en de Porziuncola, een gebedsplaats. Je verkent de middeleeuwse straatjes, de Basiliek van San Francesco en de Basiliek van Santa Chiara. Uiteindelijk bereikt u samen met uw reisleider de kerk waar het lichaam van de zaligverklaarde Carlo Acutis rust. Aangezien de toegang gratis is, is de toegang beperkt tot wachttijden, afhankelijk van het aantal bezoekers. Na de rondleiding is er vrije tijd om te lunchen. Cascia is een klein, charmant dorpje in de regio Umbrië in Midden-Italië. Het heiligdom van de Heilige Rita in Cascia is de plek waar haar leven en geest worden gevierd en trekt elk jaar duizenden pelgrims. In het heiligdom wordt het lichaam van de heilige Rita bewaard, dat sinds haar heiligverklaring in 1900 wordt vereerd. Roccaporena is een klein, pittoresk middeleeuws dorpje op een paar kilometer van Cascia, in Umbrië, en beroemd vanwege de geboorteplaats van Santa Rita. In het hart van Roccaporena ligt het geboortehuis van de heilige Rita, nu een belangrijk bedevaartsoord, waar bezoekers meer te weten kunnen komen over het leven van de heilige en haar diepe verbondenheid met het gebied. Het huis is omgetoverd tot een klein museum waar voorwerpen worden verzameld die te maken hebben met zijn leven en spiritualiteit. Roccaporena is ook de thuisbasis van het Heiligdom van Santa Rita, met het klooster waar de heilige een deel van haar jeugd doorbracht en de kleine kerk die enkele relikwieën herbergt die aan haar worden toegeschreven. Een andere belangrijke plek is de grot van Sint-Rita, een natuurlijk toevluchtsoord waar de heilige zich terugtrok om te bidden en te mediteren.

We had the most wonderful day in Cascia and Assisi with Giuseppe, our guide, and Valentino, our driver. They both went out of their way to make us comfortable and to show us the best of Umbria. We toured some of the most special and holy sites and learned about the real lives of St. Rita, St. Clare, and St. Francis, and we got to see the tomb of St. Carlo Acutis as well. A private guide was waiting for us in Assisi to give us every detail about the history of the city, its cathedrals, and its art. We learned so much! There was plenty of time for rest stops, shopping, and a delicious lunch recommended by Giuseppe. The van was very comfortable and Valentino was a fantastic driver, especially in the holiday traffic. We are so very glad we chose this tour and this company and will definitely use them again when we come back to Italy.

We took the tour to Assisi and Cascia in Spanish with Federica and Maximo. It was truly very good. Very beautiful places, and we had time to visit the sanctuaries and where the saints are. We also had the company of a local guide in Assisi. Thank you, I know it is quite a lot for one day, but it was worth it.

I booked Mamma Mia Italia because they are the best. It was a private tour. We had fun in the van with Giulio and Roberto. Our St. Francis tour who gave us the whole story of St. Francis of Assisi and a Blessed Carlo Acutis was Mark. He is one of the best English your guide in our list. Clear in everything he explains. Very caring and warm too. This tour is our culminating tour of our Family Lenten pilgrimage. We've been to Lourdes, Black Madonna in Montserrat, Fatima in Lisbon, Rome for the Easter Mass, Papal Audience. Visited Padre Pio. Of cour, to pay our respect and visit to Papa Francesco! It was a very deep, meaningful experience for our family. Giulio was very sweet and kind. Assisted us so well and explained whatever he can share to us since we boarded the van.
