Vertrek vanuit Rome voor een reis om drie heilige plaatsen in Umbrië te ontdekken. Een comfortabel privébusje haalt u op bij uw hotel of appartement in Rome en brengt u naar Assisi, de geboorteplaats van Sint Franciscus. Je bezoekt de Basiliek van Santa Maria degli Angeli en de Porziuncola, een gebedsplaats. Je verkent de middeleeuwse straatjes, de Basiliek van San Francesco en de Basiliek van Santa Chiara. Uiteindelijk bereikt u samen met uw reisleider de kerk waar het lichaam van de zaligverklaarde Carlo Acutis rust. Aangezien de toegang gratis is, is de toegang beperkt tot wachttijden, afhankelijk van het aantal bezoekers. Na de rondleiding is er vrije tijd om te lunchen. In het hart van Roccaporena ligt het geboortehuis van de heilige Rita, nu een belangrijk bedevaartsoord, waar bezoekers meer te weten kunnen komen over het leven van de heilige en haar diepe verbondenheid met het gebied. Het huis is omgetoverd tot een klein museum waar voorwerpen worden verzameld die te maken hebben met zijn leven en spiritualiteit. Roccaporena is ook de thuisbasis van het Heiligdom van Santa Rita, met het klooster waar de heilige een deel van haar jeugd doorbracht en de kleine kerk die enkele relikwieën herbergt die aan haar worden toegeschreven. Een andere belangrijke plek is de grot van Sint-Rita, een natuurlijk toevluchtsoord waar de heilige zich terugtrok om te bidden en te mediteren.
Cascia is een klein, charmant dorpje in de regio Umbrië in Midden-Italië. Het is vooral bekend vanwege de band met de heilige Rita van Cascia, een van de meest vereerde heiligen van de katholieke kerk. Het heiligdom van de Heilige Rita in Cascia is de plek waar haar leven en geest worden gevierd en trekt elk jaar duizenden pelgrims. In het heiligdom wordt het lichaam van de heilige Rita bewaard, dat sinds haar heiligverklaring in 1900 wordt vereerd. Het heiligdom is een centrum van spiritualiteit en gebed geworden, waar de gelovigen om genaden en gunsten vragen, geïnspireerd door het levensvoorbeeld van de heilige. De figuur van de heilige Rita blijft daarom een van de belangrijkste figuren van het christendom, een symbool van onwankelbaar geloof en onvoorwaardelijke liefde. Cascia wordt ook omringd door ongerepte natuur, met bergachtige landschappen die het een ideale bestemming maken voor wie op zoek is naar ontspanning en direct contact met de natuurlijke schoonheid van Umbrië.

We had a wonderful private tour with Mama Mia Italia. Frederica met us at our hotel and coordinated the entire day flawlessly. She guided us through Cascia, including the town center and the Sanctuary of Santa Rita, sharing great history and local insight while keeping everything perfectly on schedule. Later in Assisi, Sylvia took over and was just as fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and passionate. She brought the story of St. Francis to life as we explored the Basilica, the historic town, and its beautiful viewpoints. It was an amazing day! The van arrived to pick us up on time (in fact, 5 minutes earlier). Clean and comfortable car. From the very beginning, the guide Federica and the driver Stefano presented themselves cordial and kind. The day passed very calmly. We visited Rocaporena, Cascia and then went to the city of Assisi, where we had lunch and then, with the local guide, we visited the basilicas of Clara and Francis, the house of Francisco, the town square and, finally, the church where Carlos Acutis is. An unforgettable day, full of the grace of God!!!!!

Fantastic tour guide and driver. Federica was the nicest person and was very accommodating with special requests (ie bathroom breaks, shopping etc) She explained everything about the tour and we stopped at a fantastic coffee bar and Paninni place for Lunch! Massimo was the most professional of drivers, It was a long day of driving and he made us feel safe and confident that we would get to our destination on time and safely. I highly recommend this tour company!!
