We bezoeken de belangrijkste gebouwen en plaatsen die de geschiedenis en architectuur van het centrum van Mexico-Stad bepalen, dat tot het einde van de 19e eeuw de hele stad vormde. Het klinkt gek, maar in dezelfde wijk. we zullen zulke verschillende gebouwen uit vele tijdperken en stijlen vinden: mexica, barroco novohispano, neoclassicisme, eclecticisme/porfiriano, art nouveau, art déco/streamline en natuurlijk de muralistische beweging, die architectuur en schilderkunst samenvoegde. We kunnen een aantal personages tegenkomen, zoals griffioenen, waterspuwers, slangen, slangen, adelaars en zelfs zeemeerminnen, die veel te zeggen hebben over wat Mexico-Stad is.

Prachtig postkantoor uit het begin van de XXe eeuw. Afhankelijk van het tijdstip van de dag bezoeken we de binnenkant.
We gaan de eclectische architectuur van de stad verkennen via de verschillende gebouwen rondom het standbeeld van Karel de IV van Spanje.
Voordat we onze wandeling beëindigen, bezoeken we een archeologische vindplaats midden in het centrum van de stad.

Our guide Raul kept our interest, as he is so informative regarding the historical background of the amazing architecture in central Mexico City. His knowledge about not only the structures, but the history surrounding the buildings made us feel more inspired to learn more about the history of Mexico City. If you are able to have Raul as your guide, you are fortunate. You will be inspired, and also be fortunate to discover a number of hidden gems in this amazing city.

Raul was fantastic. We did this on our first day, as our first activity, in Mexico City. He’s extremely thorough and insightful, and gave us a great foundation of background info on both pre and post Spanish Mexico. Raul was amazing in so many ways! He communicated with us prior to our tour and was most gracious with waiting for us due to our going to the wrong meeting location. His tour explains so much of the history and architecture of Mexico City. We had been to a few of the locations before but didn’t know the history or background of them. His tour will explain all. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to know and see more of this amazing city!
