Uw ervaring begint wanneer u langs enkele van de beroemdste bezienswaardigheden van Rome glijdt, waaronder het Theater van Marcellus, het Circus Maximus en de Thermen van Caracalla. Vanaf de top van de goed bewaarde Aureliaanse Muren kunt u genieten van adembenemende panoramische uitzichten en leren over hun vitale rol in de bescherming van de Eeuwige Stad door de geschiedenis heen.
Ontdek vervolgens de wortels van het christendom tijdens een 40 minuten durende rondleiding door de Catacomben van Rome. Daal af in een labyrint van ondergrondse tunnels, verken vroegchristelijke begraafplaatsen en ontdek hun diepgaande historische en spirituele betekenis. De catacombe die in de route is opgenomen, kan variëren afhankelijk van mogelijke sluitingen of toegangsbeperkingen. Het zal echter worden vervangen door een andere catacombe om een complete en even verrijkende ervaring te garanderen. Terug boven de grond kunt u genieten van een rustige wandeling langs de basolato, de oude steenweg van de Appian Way. Awesome experience with the golf cart tour with Francesco as our driver. It was customized where we were able to start in the afternoon straight from the morning tour of the Vatican (also with your Local X), suggest that we see the catacombs of San Sebastiano (since our youngest has that name), and end up back to our apartment. There was 4 of us and the tour was in English for us. Francesco arrived with waters and whisked us away, provided commentary of different things that we saw while being driven, made a few stops also with commentary, and also took a few group photos of us. It was interactive where we had conversations with Francesco and can ask questions. We saw a lot of cool things and places. It was a nice break and very different from the Vatican and a bit of a break from all the walking. Our family and kids (teen boys) enjoyed this excursion. I highly recommend.

Francesco was extremely knowledgeable. His passion for history made everything more interesting. His part of the tour was awesome. He picked us up at the hotel and dropped us back off when finished. The only negative is that the Catacombs portion of the tour is not private and not with your guide. You are joined with other folks ~15 and the guide is someone from the Catacombs. That portion of the tour took over an hour away from the private tour.
Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about Francesco. Private guides are not allowed inside the Catacombs. As they are sacred sites, visits are managed directly by the Vatican, and all guests must join the priest of the Catacombs.

Our family really liked this golf cart tour. Kristian did a great job explaining the sites that we visited and even sent us a list of his recommended restaurants. We did this on our last afternoon in Rome. We enjoyed riding in a golf cart since we had been walking a lot during the days prior. We were able to go to the catacombs which was a little chilly, quite nice on a hot afternoon.
