Tour door de Superstition Mountains en de historische Apache Trail, een van de mooiste snelwegen van Amerika. Fantastische landschappen, unieke geschiedenis, fantastische geologie en een geweldige manier om meer te leren over de planten en dieren van de Sonorawoestijn. Mogelijkheden zijn onder meer wandelen, vogels spotten, fotografie, canyoneering, herping en misschien een ritje op Dolly The Steamboat bij Canyon Lake.

De Apache Trail wordt beschouwd als een van de mooiste wegen in Amerika. Deze ruige bergketen ligt op slechts 30 minuten van Phoenix.
Zie hoe vroege kolonisten leefden in de late jaren 1800. Er zijn schattige winkeltjes, een mijntour, een van de beste reptielencollecties van Arizona en een aantal geweldige fotomomenten.
Bezoek Tortilla Flat, bevolking 6. Je zou kunnen lunchen (niet inbegrepen) in dit schattige westernstadje dat bekend staat om zijn Prickly Pear Ice Cream! Van Kerstmis tot Pasen is er live-entertainment op hun terras.
Water in de woestijn? Dit bergmeer is een oase voor vissen, varen, picknicken en kamperen. Ook de thuisbasis van Dolly the Steamboat.
De Grand Canyon van de Superstition Mountains. Dit afgelegen uitzicht toont de ruigheid en uitgestrektheid van het Tonto National Forest.

Great experience for a Mother Daughter trip very manageable for a senior. Gorgeous views of Arizona we would of never found on our own as first time visitors

Absolutely stunning tour of the Apache Trail and Superstition Mountains. Breathtaking views and David, our guide, was full of great information. The Apache Trail is paved for about 1/2 the way and then turns to a (well-maintained) gravel/dirt road. We really got out into the wilds and it was just breathtaking views. David was really personable and very professional. Can't recommend enough.

I am sorry you felt rushed. The weather was not very accommodating. I wish we could have spent some time enjoying the outdoors.
This was our second tour with David and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited Goldfield, a ghost town, and stopped for an excellent lunch at Tortilla Flat, then continued our drive through beautiful desert scenery. David has such a pleasant demeanor and is knowledgeable about the area- the plants, animals, and history.
