We wandelen door de oude stad en bezoeken historische pubs. Het is ook mogelijk om te starten in een taproom van een brouwerij (Antwerpse Brouw Compagnie). Belgisch bier is duidelijk interessant, maar er zijn nog andere lokale drankjes te ontdekken. Ben je klaar om te verkennen? Wat is het geheim van het brouwen van zo'n goed bier? En verschillende stijlen : hoppig, zuur en fruitig, en mild zoet. Het is een onverwachte conclusie. Luister, loop en proef. Om je nieuwsgierigheid te prikkelen, zijn de volgende een paar eigenaardige maar feiten. Dankzij de Franse Revolutie kunnen we genieten van trappistenbier uit Westmalle! Dankzij de verliezers van de lokale verkiezingen heeft België een ruim aanbod aan kwaliteitsbieren! In elke pub proberen we iets anders. Advies zal worden gegeven door de Gids en pub Eigenaar in elk geval. Maar de keuze is aan jou! Houd er rekening mee dat bij elk pubbezoek de klant (groep of individu) de Gids trakteert op een drankje.

De Engel op de Grote Markt. Een Antwerpenaar moet hier ooit in zijn leven iets gedronken hebben.
De Soeke Hoogstraat 59. Een gezellig, intiem plekje met een rijk, artistiek verleden en heden. Ze kunnen op zondagmiddag in deze kleine ruimte livemuziek verzorgen.
Café Cabron Kaasrui 1. Een biercafé met live optredens doordeweeks en DJ-sets en feesten in het weekend.
Tram 3 Oude koornmarkt 38. Dit is een geweldige plek om met vrienden te ontspannen na een drukke dag in Antwerpen. De selectie drankjes en versnaperingen is uitstekend. Later op de avond kunt u hier genieten van een feestje.
Djinngel Djangel Bordeauxstraat 7A. Dit is een van de beste pubs voor liveoptredens. Het ligt dicht bij het Mas Museum op het Eilandje, het kleine havengebied van de stad.
The Highlander Stadswaag 21. Een Angelsaksische Antwerpse kroegervaring. Mensen die veel weten over bier en whisky.
Bier Central De Keyserlei 25. Ben je in de buurt van het Centraal Station en op zoek naar een manier om je smaakpapillen te testen met Belgisch bier? Dit is de beste manier om het probleem op te lossen.

I met Flip my guide at Grote Markt. There was clear communication about the pick up site which was very helpful, and avoided unecessary stress. Flip guided me around small local pubs in Antwerp that he knew well, and greeted a few of his friends who were also regulars. He also knew some of the pub owners, one of which brewed his own beer that we tasted. I had an interesting discussion with this pub owner about his beer and its flavour. Throughout the crawl, Flip took the effort to ask me what sort of beers I enjoyed, and helped me to choose accordingly. As a result, I tried a broad sample of both local Antwerp and Belgian beers. There was even a Scottish beer thrown into the mix. Flip also spoke extensively about the history of beer, the different brewing processes and how pubs have changed over the years. This was interesting, and I certainly learnt some new facts. For the final stop on the crawl, Flip took me to a pub that was within a short walking distance to my hotel. I appreciated this as it meant that I did not have to worry about finding my way back. On the whole, I would recommend this pub crawl, especially if you are interested in sampling the local beer, and learning about its history. In addition, you can also meet some local people and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the venues. P.S when I first booked the crawl, I did not realise that it would be a solo one. However, Flip quickly put me at ease and I enjoyed the experience.
Flip is fantastic, very personable and entertaining; he is full of great stories and information. As a former bar owner in the city he knows the area and bars well, each has a fascinating history. I highly recommend this tour, it is a great time with friends.

We were surprised that we were the only two people on the tour since the photo showed a big group of people. But that turned out to be great luck as Flip was able to customize where we went, what we saw, the beers we had, the stories and history he told. He knows so much about the history of Belgium beer and the history of Antwerp in particular. He took us to three spots that I don't think we'd have found on our own. He was very informative and entertaining! We had a great time.
