Antelope Canyon X, gelegen ten zuidoosten van de Lower Antelope-kloof bij de toegangspoort van Page, Arizona, is vernoemd naar de X's die zijn uitgehouwen in het Navajo-zandsteen dat is gevormd door miljoenen jaren regen en wind. Dit deel van de kloof is uitgehouwen door miljoenen jaren aan overstromingserosie en krachtige winden op de zandsteen, genoeg om de iconische "X" -vorm uit te beelden die de kloof toepasselijk noemde. Canyon X is een relatief nieuwe schilderachtige tour en de minder bekende neef van Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon, wat resulteert in minder bezoekers in vergelijking met de andere twee. Canyon X is een mix van de kenmerken van zowel de Upper als de Lower canyon, met de kenmerken van de Upper van lichtzuilen en de steilheid van de Lower. De 1,5 uur durende Antelope Canyon X-wandeltocht begint bij het Navajo Nation-reservaat. Na parkeren en betalen wordt u in een 4×4-transportvoertuig 5 mijl naar de monding van Antelope Canyon X vervoerd, waar u vervolgens 100 meter naar Antelope Canyon X wandelt. Onderaan helpen gidsen u bij een rondleiding door de eerste slot canyon. Nadat de eerste slotcanyon is voltooid, begeleiden gidsen je op de 200 meter lange wandeling naar de tweede slotcanyon. Booked Antelope Canyon X tour a day before. Few hours before the tour operator canceled for no reason. Now we are stuck without the tour as it is sold out. Avoid, dishonest operator.

This tour was a highlight of our vacation. So very glad we visited here. Pictures we took were stunning. There are a number of steps down to the actual canyon that must be navigated back to the top. But this stop was so very worth it!
