Beschrijving

Interesting experience with small weaknesses

The two-day trip to Cappadocia was a very interesting experience overall. Communication and support via WhatsApp in German worked very well. I booked a guided tour in English, but ended up in a group where only four people on the bus spoke English. The rest of the group spoke Russian, and three people (very loving people) were deaf. Our guide was fluent in Russian, but spoke little English. This was a bit frustrating at first, as I was wondering how to understand all the information or interact with the others when most people don't speak English and I don't understand Russian (apart from a few words). Only upon arrival in Cappadocia an English speaking guide joined us. The journey was very long and exhausting due to the great distance. Nevertheless, the mood in the group has developed surprisingly positively, despite the language barriers. Communication began to flow for me, initially through the music played on the bus. Music is like therapy – it brings joy and connects people! So I started to get excited and get in touch with the others, even if it was only through gestures or with the help of a translator on the phone. At lunch, I was one of the last to get off the bus, and by the time I got to the restaurant, everyone was already sitting. Then the deaf, very loving, people waved at me kindly so that I could sit down with them. So I gradually managed to integrate myself more and more into the group. Cappadocia itself is an incredible and unique place! Highly recommended! The scenery is impressive, and the stops at the sights were well chosen. A special highlight for me was watching the hot air balloons. At each stop at the various sights, you could not only admire the beauty of the landscape and take beautiful photos, but also get closer and closer to the people in the group, including the bus driver and the guide. This kind of communication through smiles, joy, gestures, dancing, humor, photos and shared meals was very pleasant and entertaining. I was warmly welcomed by everyone in the group and felt very well integrated. In Cappadocia it was very cold at night and warm during the day. The cave hotel was stylish, but unfortunately I had to take a cold shower in the evening. According to a fellow passenger, the problem could be fixed after a call to the reception. Here it would have been desirable if the water temperature had already been set correctly before the arrival of the guests. Another point: On the way back, the bus had a technical problem. However, we were taken to a safe waiting area and provided with tea and cake until the ride could continue. That was well organized. Big praise to the bus driver! Driving alone for such a long distance all the time is a very powerful achievement! Our tour guide was always attentive. Suggested improvement: More transparency already in the online description (e.g. name of the hotel, prices for additional activities and meals and costs for hot air ballooning). It would also make sense if the English-speaking guide was there from the start. Despite the points mentioned, I am overall satisfied with the trip and can recommend it to others.

Beware!

Pickups ran throughout the night before the first day and by the time we got to the start of the journey to Cappadocia I had been waiting for/on the bus for almost four hours. Similarly it took hours to drop everyone off at the end. All very boring. We spent less than 2 hours at sights the whole of the 2 days and not everything in the itinerary was covered. Odd trips to jewellery and gift shops were included but not listed in the itinerary. A mysterious 20 euro single room supplement was demanded by the guide who even had the bus go to a cash point so I could draw cash to give him.

Thank you for your feedback. As this tour operates with guests joining from different locations, the transfer process is an essential part of the overall planning. The itinerary includes specific stops and visits, and the program is organized accordingly. The single room supplement is also part of the tour conditions as stated in the details.

Great, but no ballon

It was a nice experience, but unfortunately the ballon didn't flew, because of bad wether. So that was a great dissapointment. The cave hotel was great, but the lunches could be better.

Thank you for your review. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the overall experience and the cave hotel. Unfortunately, balloon flights are subject to weather conditions for safety reasons, and cancellations can occur when conditions are not suitable. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the lunch. We hope to welcome you again for another experience in the future.

Unique but not perfect!

Cappadocia is amazing and, although it was an exhausting trip—two 12-hour bus rides—it was worth it. The scenery is unique, and each valley reveals new natural wonders. Overall, it was a very impressive trip, with a nice overnight stay in Avanos, including a good dinner and breakfast. So far, the good part… There is definitely room for improvement as well. The tour guide was a nice guy but didn’t add much to the program. During the trip to Cappadocia, various activities were “sold” to us. To my big surprise, the panoramic trip to watch the balloons is not included in the standard program—you need to pay an extra €30 per person. That felt like a rip-off to many, as the balloons are the main attraction. I’m fine with upselling non-essential activities such as horse riding, a jeep safari, or an optional tour to visit monasteries. However, upselling the core activity doesn’t feel right. It’s better to check upfront exactly what is included in the tour. Charging €30 per person for a panoramic tour of a maximum of 15 km feels heavily overpriced, especially considering that almost everyone signed up, feeling they had no real alternative. What also doesn’t feel right is that no receipts are provided for the extra activities, and it seemed like the money ended up directly in the tour guide’s pocket. It raises questions about where that money actually goes. This concern was reinforced by the fact that all extra activities could only be paid in cash—no card payments. That’s quite unusual, especially since Turkey is highly digitized when it comes to payments; even street vendors in Antalya accept credit cards. It gives the impression that certain money flows are intentionally kept off the record. Regarding the tour itself, the two mandatory visits on the second day to a jewelry shop and a candy store should be removed. Nobody is really interested in these stops—they only benefit the tour operator and the shop owners. It’s a typical example of profit being prioritized over customer experience. Instead of these unnecessary visits, it would be much better to spread the valley visits over two days rather than cramming them all into the first day. By the end of the first day, many people—including myself—felt “valley fatigue,” and Cappadocia deserves a better-paced experience. The drivers were nice guys. But considering they drive approximately 15 hours per day, fatigue can happen and our bus almost ended up in a ditch halfway. It's a really long trip and the drivers definetly need an extra bonus. They are heroes if you ask me. It’s a unique trip, you will see things which you can't see anywhere else, and with more focus on customer needs, this trip could be significantly improved.

A MUST DO tour to experience Capadoccia in 2 days. This tour is worth it!

If you can handle the bus ride, this tour is a must to experience Cappadocia. You MUST experience the Cave Hotel and the Hot Air balloon. These add-on tours are like icing with the cherry on top of a beautiful tour.

Great experience, but can improve

It was a great walk to an iconic place The journey itself is exhausting (bear in mind). The driver drives well and is responsible, in addition to making regular stops to allow to go to the bathroom and reduce the discomfort for so long inside the vehicle. The tour is mounted with the main points and the guides are extremely well prepared. I just think the stops could be five or ten minutes longer. A feeling of always running and not having time for anything and very bad. Another recommendation is to include (or even increase the price a bit) the visit to one of the houses inside the caves to see what it is, what would be the day-to-day of those who lived in these houses. Finally, the hotel that is sold as a cave hotel does not actually seem to be a cave hotel. An excellent hotel, great amenities, but didn't seem to be in the caves really. The mountain where the cave was was far away. For the whole of the work I give note 5, even because they were very reasonable and comprehensive in the face of a mistake I made about going to an additional tour or not.

Unforgettable Cappadocia Trip

Our 2-day Cappadocia trip was absolutely amazing from the beginning to the end. Everything was perfectly organised, making the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable. The landscapes were breathtaking, the activities were unforgettable, and every moment felt special. A special thank you to our guide Erhan, who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional — he truly made the trip even more memorable. The cave hotel was very nice, warm, and cosy, especially during the winter time, with breakfast and dinner included, and its location was very close to the town centre, which was extremely convenient. We felt well looked after throughout the entire journey. A once-in-a-lifetime experience — highly recommended to anyone visiting Turkey!
