A Wonderful Walking Tour of Angara Our walking guide met us in the main square — a true gentleman, extremely knowledgeable about the history of Angara. From our walk through City Hall and the beautiful gardens to a stop to enjoy a nice, cold ginginha, every moment was delightful. We continued to the museum, the stunning cathedral, and the theatre district, gaining a deeper understanding of both the present and past of this fascinating city. The walk ended at the waterfront, where we learned about its important history and why the area is protected by UNESCO. The tour lasted about 2½ to 3 hours at a comfortable pace, with several enjoyable stops to taste three local island desserts and savor some delicious coffee. We were the only two on the tour, so there was no need for headsets — which, for us, was perfect. Highly recommended!
Thank you for your kind words! Gui
Guide: Alex If you're looking for a relaxed guided tour, forget it. The guide seemed to have taken a Red Bull before it started: an announced 4-hour tour was reduced to 2, as if there was a gold medal at stake for finishing earlier. Asking questions was like talking to a statue: poker face and awkward silence. So much so that I came to doubt whether the price also included a fast-track course on how to manage awkward moments without running away. At times I felt inside a gynecana: “Find the answers yourself before the guide finishes the route.” An authentic cultural escape room, but without clues or fun. Conclusion: I have paid 40 € for a speed dating with monuments and a masterclass in how not to answer questions. Demanding, yes; enriching... just for patience.
Hello, You wrote this review to the wrong business. "Alex" does not work for our company and was never hired by us aswell. Thank you Heidi! I had a great time with you and felt so proud with all your questions and interest about our island. All the best! Gui
This tour was an excellent introduction for our first visit to Terceira and Angra. Good balance of history, present culture, and how families live. Gui was personable, open and sharing, and offered many insider tips. Recommended!
Thank you Henry!! It was a pleasure having you two as guests and hilarious listening to all your jokes! Hope you had a great great time with Flávio too. Thank you again for coming and by the way, do you know how you keep a tourist in suspense?
