Andorra Tour met kleine groep vanuit Barcelona

Andorra is een onafhankelijk land tussen Spanje en Frankrijk, met een unieke geschiedenis, natuur, gastronomie en erfgoed waardoor deze dagtrip een van de meest interessante is om een beetje uit te rusten tijdens uw verblijf in het drukke Barcelona. Als u NIET 13 of meer uur in een bus wilt doorbrengen die door 3 verschillende landen op één dag wordt gereden, wilt u liever deel uitmaken van een exclusieve tour naar Andorra. Dus verwacht alsjeblieft geen groot warenhuis of winkelcentrum, want Andorra is veel meer dan dat. PS : Als je echt langs Frankrijk wilt gaan kunnen we dat doen tegen een extra betaling (gratis vanaf 4 personen). Het is vooral aan te raden om de schoonheid van de rit te bekijken in Berguedà en La Cerdanya, nog steeds in Catalonië (Spanje) en Andorra binnen te rijden na een paar mijl door Frankrijk te hebben gereden. Verplicht PASPOORT (geen rijbewijs of nationale identiteitskaart) voor alle passagiers afkomstig uit niet-EU-landen. Ik moet een minimum aantal passagiers (2 volwassenen) krijgen voor het doen van de tour.

Het is een middeleeuwse brug uit de 14e eeuw. Het is stromend water onder het hele jaar door. De vegetatie is in elk seizoen anders. Het ligt in het zuiden van het land, vlakbij de Spaanse grens, ongeveer 850 meter boven de zeespiegel. Het is bekend dat de buurt van de brug de eerste bewoners op het huidige grondgebied van Andorra leefde, ongeveer 12.000 jaar geleden.
Het is een oud huis waar de regering van Andorra plaatsvond sinds 1580 tot 2011. De toegang tot de plaats is vrijwillig, en kost 5 €. Als sommige leden niet interessant zijn in Casa de la Vall, kunnen ze 1 uur doorbrengen met winkelen en wandelen in de straten van de oude binnenstad van Andorra la Vella.
Dit is een spectaculair uitzichtpunt gelegen op ongeveer 1.950 meter boven de zeespiegel. Vanaf deze plek kunnen we een tinnen sculptuur zien die een man voorstelt die het uitzicht bekijkt, omringd door een glazen bodemplatform. De uitzichten op de bergen behoren tot de Canillo parochie: hoofdstad en sommige van hun omgeving, zoals een aantal picks en skipistes. Op de top van de bergen ligt minstens 10 maanden van het jaar sneeuw. Het is een optionele stop en de kosten zijn 5 € per persoon (niet inbegrepen; als het café gesloten is, accepteren ze alleen contante betaling in euro).
De naam van deze attractie is gewoon Ordino. Een klein dorpje, hoofdstad van een van de zeven gemeenten van Andorra. In Ordino kunnen we omhoog lopen in de smalle straatjes waar we enkele XVII eeuwse huizen, een mooie kerk, familiewoningen en zelfs een paar cafés in de hoofdstraat kunnen zien. Ik kan je ook een ander charmant dorpje in Andorra laten zien, kleiner dan Ordino en met bijna geen diensten, maar het zal een geheim tussen jou en mij blijven.
Van de snelle groei vanaf de tweede helft van de XX eeuw, zijn er nog een paar steden die nog steeds de charme van het verleden behouden. Een van deze voorbeelden is Ordino. In Ordino kunnen we door de straten in de oude stad wandelen waar we enkele huizen uit de XVII eeuw zullen bekijken, zoals Casa Rosell of Casa Areny-Plandolit, evenals de barokke kerk, Saint Cornelius en Saint Cebrian. Voor degenen die liever kijken naar een echt oude kerk gebouwd in de middeleeuwen kan ik u Sant Miquel d'Engolasters (XII eeuw) of Santa Coloma (eind VIII-begin IX eeuw) aanraden, deze laatste kost 7 € en bevat een klein museum met een audiovisuele ervaring en toont drie oude schilderijen XII-XIII, uitgetrokken in XX eeuw uit andorran kerken, maar teruggevonden door het land.

- Kinderen zijn toegestaan, maar het is een lange tour dus ik raad het aan van 3-4 jaar oud st minst.

Antonio was a great and very knowledgeable guide. He was on time and communicative and Andorra was stunning - we went all over the little country and it has it all, from old medieval churches to picturesque mountains. Antonio knew lots of interesting places to hit as well as great photo spots. Since I was the only traveler that day it was very relaxed and I had a lot of say in the itinerary, I imagine it's a bit different with more of a group, but nonetheless I would highly recommend. I also didn't mind the long drive from Barcelona - Antonio's car was comfortable and the scenery in Spain is beautiful, and Antonio had a lot of information and history about Andorra along the way.

Andorra is underrated yet its Pyrenees mountain features have the touch of the Swiss Alps that we enjoyed wading through flowing springs and some snow caps even during Spring. Thanks to Anton our guide who was very knowledgeable about Andorra from its geography, history, and current affairs. He was very good at driving us around the best spots and on time. He was very flexible and he customized our trip based on our interests and the needs of the kids. He was very helpful and answered all our questions, and knew a lot about the place that makes you love Andorra more. Plus, we were able to have our passports stamped with official Andorra border entry stamp.

Had a brilliant trip front start to finish on our tour of Andorra, perfect itinerary for the day, didn’t feel rushed and had plenty of time to explore. The Alpine views and snowy peaks were lovely and we had one of the best meals on our trip at a local spot nestled in the mountains that we were dropped off at! This tour is quite a commitment, however, due to the amount of driving involved from Barcelona - much more time than we anticipated, but it’s the only way to get there (no airports or trains go to Andorra) and the van was comfortable. Most of what we saw was while driving and a few brief spots for pictures. We didn’t get to stroll through any medieval towns or walk any suspension bridges as pictured, but, to be fair, the itinerary seemed limited/fluid due to the daylight hours we had in mid-November. We did walk around a 8th century church that pretty cool tho. Those going during different seasons would likely have a different experience. I would recommend to those going to do some research on Andorra and chat with Antonio about the specific itinerary prior to make sure you don’t miss anything you want to see or see pictured with the tour.
Thanks for this review. It is not a secret than Andorra is 3h from Barcelona. Maybe a little bit less if you don't start from the Barcelona center and don't stop on the way. Anyways much less drive than in the 3 countries in 1 day. In this daytrip in particular, there was a family with a couple of member celiacs and the lunch time took us 1h30 min in your restaurant. As you said in this season days are shorter and sus sets about 5.30 am in Barcelona (even a bit before that in the mountains). The andorra old towns are not medieval because most of the oldest houses are from 17th century or newer (most of the andorra construction is new). The only medieval buildings in the country are the 32 oldest churches romanesque and prerromanesque and a medieval bridge.
If you’re wondering whether to book this excursion, don’t hesitate because this trip was well worth it! Antonio knew all the most beautiful places to stop for postcard-like pictures, and he and the driver were more than accommodating. My husband and son are both celiac, and he made sure we got to a restaurant that was gluten free during the trip. I would highly recommend this trip to see the quaint towns in Andorra!
