Korinthe ligt op slechts 1 uur en 15 minuten rijden van Athene. Onze eerste stop is bij het indrukwekkende Kanaal van Korinthe, waar uw chauffeur de vele interessante, ongelukkige en gevarieerde geschiedenissen van de oudheid tot nu beschrijft. Het Kanaal van Korinthe verbindt de Golf van Korinthe in de Ionische Zee met de Saronische Golf in de Egeïsche Zee. Het snijdt door de smalle landengte van Korinthe en scheidt de Peloponnesos van het Griekse vasteland, waardoor het schiereiland waarschijnlijk een eiland is geworden. Het kanaal is gegraven door de landengte op zeeniveau en heeft geen sluizen. Het is 6,4 kilometer (4 mijl) lang en slechts 21,4 meter (70 ft) breed aan de basis, waardoor het onbegaanbaar is voor veel moderne schepen. Vanaf grote hoogte kunt u genieten van het beste uitzicht op de landengte van Korinthe en de steile kalkstenen muren bewonderen terwijl u de schepen onder u observeert terwijl u door het kanaal vaart
Hier kunt u de archeologische site en het museum van Ancient Corinth bezoeken, een van de belangrijkste steden in het oude Griekenland. Hier heeft u een uur om de Apollotempel, de tempel van Octavia, de baden, de Bema waar St. Paulus de Corinthiërs toesprak, het Peirine-fonteincomplex, het theater, het Romeinse Odeum te verkennen... Binnen de archeologische site kunt u ook het museum bezoeken met tentoonstellingen uit de omgeving.
Het Archeologisch Museum van Oud-Korinthe werd gebouwd tussen 1931-1932, met de bedoeling om de talrijke recente archeologische opgravingen tentoon te stellen. Het museum bevindt zich in de archeologische vindplaats Oud-Korinthe, Griekenland, en valt onder de jurisdictie van de 37e Ephoreia van de Griekse Archeologische Dienst. Belangrijke aspecten van de archeologische vindplaats Oud-Korinthe zijn: • Hadgimoustafa-bron • Lechaion-weg • Basiliek • Fontein van Peirene • Stoa • Agora • Odien • Andere tempels • Theater
De tempel van Apollo in Korinthe werd in 550 v.Chr. gebouwd.
Laatste stop is de Akropolis van het oude Korinthe, genaamd Acrokorinthos, een monolithische rots die continu bewoond was van de archaïsche tijd tot het begin van de 19e eeuw. Hier heeft u een uur om het kasteel te bezoeken. U zult genieten van het geweldige uitzicht op 575 meter boven zeeniveau, en de drie kasteelpoorten, de bovenste Pirene-bronnen, de tempel van Aphrodite die gekerstend werd als een kerk op de top...

Excellent excursion with Nikos at the wheel! From the moment he picked us up, Nikos was incredibly hospitable. Throughout our journey, he shared interesting insights about Athens, Greece, and the places we were visiting, adding so much to the overall experience. The vehicle was comfortable, and Nikos kept the ride enjoyable with great music, easy conversation, and plenty of laughs along the way. The Corinth Canal and Ancient Corinth absolutely did not disappoint! Being able to physically stand in these historic locations was mind-blowing. If we could change one thing, we might have allowed ourselves a little more time at Ancient Corinth—there is simply so much history and information to take in. But that is certainly not a complaint; we thoroughly enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. We were picked up at the cruise ship terminal and then dropped at a hotel near the airport which was perfect. It took about 1 hour 10 minutes to get to the Corinth Canal. Our guide/driver Nikos really knows all of Greece and its history. He gives a running commentary and could answer any question we asked. After seeing the canal, we went on to see the ruins of ancient Corinth. There are ruins of a temple and theater, but they have uncovered as much of them as some other sites. The archeological museum is well worth the 15 euro admission. It has some of the most complete statues, plaques, figurines etc. That we have seen. Then we went up to Acrocorinth which is a castle and acropolis above the museum. The site is 575 meters up a rough coblestone road. We made it half way in 93 degree heat. This still gave us fantastic views from the sea to the mountains. Nikos preps you on everything you will see and we were in a very comfortable van. This is a great tour for seeing something outside of Athens.

This is a wonderful tour away from the city. Yiannis was a great guide. The canal was spectacular and his stops were very good for snacks and restrooms. The old ruins were interesting but wish he had given us more direction there or could have accompanied us for more detail.

We were traveling for our honeymoon and were picked up by Yiannis for our drive into Corinth! We travelled with two others couples in a van, with great air conditioning! We had an amazing time. He made sure we had snacks and water during our trip and we saw all of the wonderful history Corinth has to offer. He shared historical facts and stories along the way. We even made a small stop on the way back to see a special underwater bridge. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to many others!

it didn't happen, there was a mistake with the booking ,tried to rectify it but was completely ignored
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you were disappointed with your experience. According to our records, your booking was confirmed for 3 July. On the scheduled day, we had arranged both the driver and the vehicle to pick you up for your tour. However, at the last minute, you informed us that you were not in Greece and that you would be arriving on 15 August. We showed you that your reservation had been made for 3 July. Unfortunately, this was not a case of confusing the date by one day, where we might have been able to accommodate you. Instead, the requested tour date was 43 days after the original booking date, which made it impossible to honor the reservation as booked or reschedule it at such short notice. We always do our best to assist our guests whenever possible, but in this case, we had already allocated our staff and vehicle based on the confirmed booking date. We appreciate your understanding and wish you all the best with your future travels.
Great half day trip, and made it back in plenty of time for a different half day trip for sunset at Cape Sounion (highly recommend!). The driver was very good and gave us some explanation as he dropped us off at each site.
