Wonderful time! A must do Lovely drive from Amsterdam
Excellent day trip hosted by hop on & hop off This is Holland. Friendly guide & Driver for the return trip from Amsterdam. Despite the bus had some over heated issue on our return journey that ww had to wait for nearly an hour for the emergency bus to bring us back. The driver was very informative and took care of everyone while waiting. He got someone from Giethroon to bring some ice lollies due to the hot weather. We all returned safely by the end of the day.
Gilbert knocked it out of the park as we say in the USA. Delightful, knowledgeable, funny and professional. We was not only our driver but also the guide. He was amazing! Giethoorn is gorgeous, quaint and should not be missed.
Definitely book it. It was a wonderful tour, very well organised. Peter our coach driver was adorable, very kind, friendly and an amazing tour guide, very interesting with a great sense of humour, very clean and comfortable coach. The guide on the boat was also very kind and funny and the village was beautiful. The food at De Rietstulp Restaurant was lovely, friendly staff and clean rest rooms, 10% off with your bus ticket. Sampled lots of delicious cheese at the Henri Willig cheese shop and bought some to take back to England with a 10% discount given to you when collecting your tickets. A lovely finish on our last day of our stay in Amsterdam.
The town itself was phenomenal! Absolutely gorgeous. The drive is about 2 hours long, then a 60 minute boat tour, then about 2.5 hours to grab lunch and explore the city. Definitely make sure you go into the church and make a peace bird! We learned a lot about the history of the Netherlands and Giethoorn.

The trip went well but, on arrival, the driver pointed out the presence of the toilets, we went in six and, on the return to the bus, the group had already moved and boarded for the ride to Giethoorn. Thanks to the help of the parking attendant we were then able to catch another boat after 45 minutes. On the way back, however, on the ticket it was written to meet us in front of the restaurant located opposite the boarding and, instead, asking the boat attendants, they told us to go directly to the bus. Luckily we asked! On arrival at the bus the driver did not even apologize. Everything normal so... low mark to the organization, beautiful village.
We enjoyed this tour very much. Our bus driver/guide was very courteous. He was very punctual. We had plenty of time to walk around on our own in this beautiful town of Giethoorn. We took lots of photos.
