De prachtige Amalfikust van Italië is nu een toeristische bestemming van wereldklasse. Met deze dagtrip vanuit Rome reist u slimmer, zonder in te boeten aan comfort of stijl. Je stapt uit de trein en komt op de pier waar je avontuur aan de Amalfikust begint. In een intieme groep leidt uw lokale Expert de weg van de trein naar de veerboot. Eenmaal gezeten, geniet u van een cruise van een uur van Salerno naar Positano terwijl u geniet van de kustlijn van karakteristieke kliffen die het decor vormen voor dit UNESCO Werelderfgoed. Kies vervolgens of u een ochtendduik wilt nemen of de tientallen chique boetiekjes en ambachtelijke winkels wilt verkennen. Geniet van een ontspannen lunch voordat u terugkeert naar de pier voor een korte rit naar onze volgende bestemming, de stad Amalfi. Vanuit Amalfi geniet u van een korte cruise terug naar Salerno terwijl u vanaf het water geniet van een uniek uitzicht op de steden Minori, Maiori, Cetara en Ravello. Je stapt terug op terra ferma om Positano, het juweel van de kust van Amalfi, te verkennen. Kies of u een ochtendduik wilt nemen of de tientallen chique boetiekjes en ambachtelijke winkels wilt verkennen, en geniet vervolgens van een ontspannen lunch voordat u terugkeert naar de pier voor een korte rit naar onze volgende bestemming, de stad Amalfi. Het is geen wonder waarom deze prachtige kustlijn zijn naam ontleent aan Amalfi. In deze bruisende stad is het volop actie, vol winkels, stranden, restaurants en fotomomenten. Uw Gids zal u voorzien van een korte oriëntatie wandeling met inbegrip van een overzicht van de 11e-eeuwse kathedraal en een limoncello proeverij in een van de lokale winkels, waarna u kunt genieten van wat vrije tijd winkelen en verkennen of ga naar het strand.
Geniet vanuit Amalfi van een korte cruise terug naar Salerno terwijl u vanaf het water geniet van een uniek uitzicht op de steden Minori, Maiori, Cetara en Ravello. Je gids zal je op tijd begeleiden van de pier naar het station (op slechts een steenworp afstand) voor je terugreis naar Rome.
Ooit een verzameling vissersdorpjes, is de prachtige Amalfikust van Italië nu een toeristische bestemming van wereldklasse. Maar zoals vaak het geval is, met grote schoonheid komen grote problemen. Te veel voertuigen, verlammend verkeer, te weinig parkeerplaatsen en haarspeldbochten die tweerichtingsverkeer ondraaglijk maken, zijn slechts enkele van de uitdagingen waarmee de Italiaanse Amalfikust de afgelopen jaren te maken heeft gehad.
Na een volle dag verkennen is het tijd om terug te gaan.

The guides were excellent. They were friendly and knowledgeable and made sure everything went smoothly.
Great day with Mauro as a host. We were left to our own devices once we got to the stops but Mauro was around and available for questions and help if we needed it. Train got held up so we lost about an hour but that is not on the tour operator. I would say that we need more time but happy for the experience I did have. I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Spent a great day with Mauro. Alda helped us find our departure train from Rome and Mauro met us in Salerno where we boarded the ferry. Our train had been delayed so we had to wait for a later ferry but Mauro took care of everything and made the changes. We didn’t have to stay with Mauro and could easily roam on our own, which I prefer. Thank you!!
This was a great day on the Amalfi Coast. Unfortunately, we had a rainstorm, but our guide kept spirits up. Mauro has the best personality and he was enthusiastic while sharing interesting anecdotes and facts about the places we visited. We were very impressed by the care we received from Mauro and ItaliaTours when there was a train delay upon our return. Mauro kept us informed and worked with ItaliaTours to figure out the best solution to get us back to Rome. They were preparing to send a couple of vans to drive us back. Then the rail issue was solved and our train was on the way. We didn’t leave Salerno until about 11:00pm. Mauro stuck with us the whole time.
Book it IF you want to be a water taxi & do drop offs! Book it IF you want to be forced to eat at THEIR choice of subpar & $$$$ restaurant! Book it if you eat at a place with rude waiters who screw up ALL 3 tables meals (8 people all had "issues" with their food! Book it IF you want to completely WASTE time on what couldve been a much better experience!! A FULL day of travel in the heat turned out to be a long train ride, a ferry ride to the Amalfi Coast to DROP off single tour individuals, THEN continue another 30 minutes to Positano. We were told we had 45 minutes to sight see and then back to the boat!?! Thats the waste of time!!! Why bother? Then back to Amalfi for 3 hours and 40 minutes??? Right off the boat you follow your guide straight to a preselected lunch spot, after passing people eating at what looked WAY better then what we got. We weren't even hungry yet, since we ate a little bite (as suggested by our guide) at the ferry dock. Waiter: RUDE!!! Service: FOOD WAS SUBPAR. Cost $$$$ I could go on and on but I hope this helps you AVOID this $700 WASTE OF TIME & MONEY TOUR!!!

The Amalfi Coast is beautiful and Mauro took excellent care of us! We would have loved a bit more time in Positano, though. That stop was only 45 minutes and felt too rushed. We also weren’t expecting to be taken to one specific restaurant for lunch (cost not included). It ended up being great food; we just weren’t expecting that. Our favorite parts were the ferry rides. The views were stunning, and that’s definitely the way to experience the Amalfi coast rather than fighting traffic!
We have been to Italy many times but have never made it out to the Amalfi Coast. We opted to do this tour rather than rent a car, drive and potentially stay in one of the Amalfi Coast hotels (since we went in the peak of tourist season, we heard many stories about the traffic congestion and parking challenges). We are so glad we opted this way. Our experience was very chaotic because of the many tourists. Also, we prefer not to spend time in tourist traps, we much prefer experiencing travel more like a local. Salerno, Positano and Amalfi are all extremely touristy, very chaotic during the peak time we went at the end of June, and frankly overpriced, because they are tourist destinations. But are we glad we took a day trip to the Amalfi Coast? Absolutely! It was still amazing to see the region we had long heard and wondered about. The towns are scenic, and the ocean blue and beautiful. Just be prepared for the chaos. It also is hot and humid, which is not obvious from pictures (turns out we were there during a heat wave, so almost unbearable). Bottom line, be mentally prepared, stay hydrated, watch for pickpockets, and you will have a fun memorable adventure. Lastly, shout out to Mauro, he is an awesome tour guide. He is very knowledgeable, shares lots of interesting and useful information, and is well connected with the locals. Make sure to ask for a few recommendations, he always seemed to have some regardless of what one might want to do while there. Thank you Mauro for a memorable and safe experience!
Overall tour was excellent, and our guide was wonderful. We had some rain delays leaving Salerno on the way back which caused about a 30 minute delay, and he did not leave until we were all aboard the train. Overall great trip from Rome!
Mauro was the best tour guide ever, very informative, kind, & funny. We had the best time, it was a couples trip & we felt included during the process but were also able to have our own time to get dinner, drinks, & shop/walk around. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have a perfectly planned day but with room for shopping, beach, & great food. Mauro will make you feel comfortable & goes above & beyond. He always had a meeting point & time to meet up so there was never any confusions. Even at the end of the night he makes sure you get on the correct train before leaving himself. Make sure to book!
