Uw privégids ontmoet u in de haven van Istanbul met een bordje met “Uw naam” erop, of in uw hotellobby (Alleen vermelde hotels ) De enige stad ter wereld die op twee continenten ligt, is Istanbul, dat al meer dan 2000 jaar de hoofdstad is van drie grote rijken – Romeins, Byzantijns en Ottomaans.
Onze tour begint met het Hippodrome Plein waar vroeger wagenrennen en de Byzantijnse rellen tijdens de Romeinse & Byzantijnse periode plaatsvonden.
Dan, Blauwe Moskee, heeft zijn bekendheid van zijn prachtige blauwe Iznik tegels.
We lopen verder naar het Topkapi Paleis, was niet alleen de residentie van de Ottomaanse sultans, maar ook het administratieve en educatieve centrum van de staat. Het werd gebouwd tussen 1460 en 1478 door Sultan Mehmed II, de veroveraar van Constantinopel. We bezoeken het Topkapi Paleis inclusief wapensectie.
Slechts een korte wandeling, bereikt Hagia Sophia gebouwd in 532 AD door de Romeinse keizer Justinianus I.
We lunchen in het beroemde Puding winkelrestaurant in de oude stad
Daarna bezoeken we de Grote Bazaar, waar een van de grootste en oudste overdekte markten ter wereld is, met meer dan 58 overdekte straten en meer dan 1.200 winkels die dagelijks tussen de 250.000 en 400.000 bezoekers trekken. Geopend in 1461, is het bekend om zijn sieraden, aardewerk, kruiden, en tapijt winkels.

De vergadertijd wordt binnen 24 uur na uw reservering gemaild, afhankelijk van de aankomsttijd van uw schip. Houd er rekening mee dat we onze gasten alleen kunnen kiezen uit geselecteerde hotels vanwege verkeersproblemen.

Op vrijdag: Blauwe Moskee is geopend van 14.30 tot 16.30 uur

Our tour guide was Lale for 2 days and was excellent. She provided us with informative historical backgrounds on all sites. She was attentive and always considerate of our time and interests. We customized our tour to include all the major sites in Istanbul. Personally, Lale was a delight to spend our time with in Istanbul. Also, Ephesus Shuttles are excellent in communication which made setting up our itinerary painless. I highly recommend them and most definitely, Lale as a tour guide.

We had a fantastic day visiting Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the burial place of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and of course his wife Roxlana (Hürrem Sultan). This was all in the company of our wonderful guide Türkan. For such a young lady her appreciation and understanding of the history of Istanbul was amazing. One of our group was a fan of the Turkish series ‘Magnificent Century’ and so was our guide. She was lovely company and it was actually a privilege to be shown around her city with such enthusiasm. It was also refreshing to hear a young persons views on history and the events in the world. At the end of the tour she bought us Turkish coffee herself and read our fortunes in the grounds to great amusement. We cannot praise her enough and if you are lucky enough to have her as your guide you will have won the lottery!

We were picked up by our driver Sheriff who was lovely and our Tour guide Tercan, who was a lovely friendly young lady. She made the whole day a really great experience. We had planned a customised tour itinerary together, before we left the UK, of all the major city sights to see - Topkapi, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Hippodrome, Suleyman Mosque and burial ground and both him and his wife Hurrem, which I found great as a prolific Magnificent Century viewer. We had lunch out at a typical local restaurant and had our photos taken in national costume which were lovely and a great momento. We would all thoroughly recommend Tercan as a guide. She was attentive, very knowledgeable of the history of Istanbul, and nothing was too much trouble for her. We had a wonderful over 8 hour day, which our group of 5 will always remember.
