Het verkennen van de meest afgelegen en uitdagende gletsjers van Lago Argentino is mogelijk door middel van zeilen, wat de unieke mogelijkheid biedt om op een catamaran te gaan of te verkennen vanaf de balkons en het dek, ideaal voor het maken van prachtige foto's. De landing op de Spegazzini-basis, een stuk land midden in de uitgestrektheid van het Argentinomeer en het gletsjerveld. Hiermee kunt u wandelingen maken met de meest spectaculaire uitzichten op het Nationaal Park.

We halen de passagiers om 7:00 uur op bij hun centraal gelegen hotels en reizen per comfortabele bus naar de haven van Punta Bandera, gelegen op 47 km van El Calafate. Als u voor de optie zonder overstap kiest, ontmoeten we u om 8:30 uur in de haven van Punta Bandera om te beginnen met varen.
Zodra alle passagiers aan boord zijn, begint de cruise om 9.00 uur op de noordelijke arm van het Argentinomeer. We staken de Devil's Mouth over richting het Upsalamaai, waarbij we tussen enorme ijsbergen door voeren die van de voorkant van de Upsalamletsjer waren afgebroken. Bij het binnenvaren van het Spegazzini-kanaal kunt u genieten van een panoramisch uitzicht op verschillende gletsjers. Op aangegeven plekken kunt u foto's maken van de indrukwekkende ijsblokken.
Tijdens de tour krijgen passagiers de gelegenheid om verschillende van de vele gletsjers in Lago Argentino te bekijken, waaronder de Seco-gletsjer, de Spegazzini-gletsjer, de South Heim-gletsjer en de Peineta-gletsjer. Tijdens de navigatie kunt u de ijsblokken vanuit verschillende hoeken bewonderen, waardoor u de beste foto's kunt maken.
We stappen uit bij La Base Spegazzini om via het 300 meter lange pad door het bos naar de Spegazzini Refuge te trekken. Het is toegankelijk en vertegenwoordigt geen complexiteit omdat het op vaste grond wordt gedaan. Er zal worden gepost op verschillende stations (Glaciologie - Geschiedenis - Fauna en Flora) met uitzichtpunten over de hele baai van gletsjers. Eenmaal in de Refuge kunt u genieten van de gastronomie, de winkel en een ongelooflijk panoramisch uitzicht vanuit de kamers en van buitenaf (Deck & Terrace). Een andere mogelijkheid is om het bergpad te nemen, van gemiddelde moeilijkheidsgraad door een bebost pad, met natuurlijke uitzichtpunten, vol ongelooflijke uitzichten die eindigt bij het landingspunt.
Eenmaal terug aan boord vervolgen we het tweede deel van de reis naar Punta Bandera, waar we rond 16.00 uur verwachten aan te komen. Voor degenen die voor de optie met overstap hebben gekozen, staat de terugkeer naar El Calafate gepland rond 17.00 uur.

Great boat trip. We loved the Glaciers and the lunch venue. We booked on Vaitor and there was a big mess up somewhere between Viator and the tour company. We were told 830am pick up at our hotel. We received a call at 7:30 AM to ask why we were not ready for pick up. We caught a taxi to the jetty which cost us US$60. The tour company confirmed they would refund us and after requesting a refund, they denied the refund on the basis that there was a confusion over the ticket, even though we received two reminders to pick up at the hotel at 8:30 AM. My advice is that you take great care when confirming whether you are booking a transfer or no transfer and what your subsequent pick up time is.
It was exceptional and well organised. Everything went to plan and was on time from pick up to drop off.
We were picked up by a combi from the hotel, very friendly. They took us several km to where we boarded a boat, a sublime experience, the front of the glacier is something indescribable for the extraordinary, the very good explanations, when you return they wait for you and leave you in the afternoon night at the hotel. Highly recommended. Don't stop doing it.
A wonderful experience. Unique views of the glaciers. The guides were excellent. The haven where lunch is made, beautiful and with amazing views.
Boat trip where you can see the glaciers in the distance, but it is like seeing them on the walkways and it is free... I prefer the excursion where you will touch the glacier with the blue safari. Amazing tour! Beautiful navigation across the lake, passing by the Upsala Glacier and the Spegazzini Glacier. On the way we can see icebergs that have broken off and the images are surreal! Pay extra to stay on the top deck! It is worth it! The place where we stopped for lunch also has a wonderful view!
