Onze Alaska Wildlife Tours worden geleid door ervaren, natuurgidsen die niet alleen verstand hebben van de wilde dieren, maar ook van de lokale cultuur, ecologie en beschermingsinspanningen. Hun persoonlijke verhalen en diepgaande kennis kunnen een groot verschil maken. Onze intieme kleine groepen bieden een meer gepersonaliseerde, diepgaande tourervaring, waardoor gasten betere toegang hebben tot gidsen en een rustigere omgeving om wilde dieren te spotten.

We bezoeken het Alaska Wildlife Conservation Centre. De AWCC is in 1993 voor het publiek geopend. Het is gelegen op 140 hectare aan de zuidelijke rand van Turnagain Arm en de ingang van Portage Valley. De missie van het centrum is om zorg en revalidatie te bieden aan gewonde en verweesde dieren in het wild en om natuureducatie en bewustzijn te bieden. Dieren die niet kunnen worden vrijgelaten of in het wild overleven, krijgen onderdak in de ruime leefgebieden van het centrum. Hier kunnen mensen veilig dichtbij komen, enkele van Alaska's grootste landdieren observeren en fotograferen, waaronder elanden, bizons, elanden, herten, kariboes, beren muskox, kleine zoogdieren en roofvogels. Tijdens de lente en de zomer kunnen bezoekers vaak getuige zijn van de rehabilitatie van verweesde babydieren van verschillende soorten.
Beluga Point is een gebied dat is vernoemd naar de belugawalvissen die vanaf de kustlijn te zien zijn, vooral in de zomermaanden (juli tot augustus). Dit gebied biedt verschillende natuurlijke attracties die het een populaire stop maken voor bezoekers, zoals wilde dieren, adembenemende uitzichten op Turnagain Arm, een smalle waterweg omringd door bergen. De schilderachtige achtergrond van bergen en de oceaan biedt mogelijkheden voor verbluffende fotografie en stille reflectie. Soms kunnen we ook een fenomeen zien dat een getijdenboor wordt genoemd, waarbij een muur van water naar binnen stroomt en de stroming van de rivier omkeert. De getijdenboor is te zien langs Turnagain Arm en Beluga Point is een van de plekken waar mensen samenkomen om getuige te zijn van dit natuurlijke evenement.
Turnagain Arm is een prachtige fjordachtige waterweg ten zuidoosten van Anchorage, Alaska, bekend om zijn dramatische getijden, adembenemende uitzichten op de bergen en overvloedige wilde dieren. Het maakt deel uit van Cook Inlet en heeft een van 's werelds grootste getijdenbereiken, waardoor een unieke getijdenboring ontstaat waar een golf tijdens vloed landinwaarts raast. Bezoekers spotten vaak belugawalvissen, Dall-schapen en verschillende vogelsoorten langs de oevers. De Seward Highway, die langs Turnagain Arm loopt, biedt een van de meest schilderachtige ritten van Alaska, met uitzicht op ruige bergen en uitgestrekte getijdenvlakten. Uw gids zal onderweg verschillende stops maken voor foto's en interpretatie.

- Het activiteitenniveau is eenvoudig. Gasten moeten korte afstanden op oneffen ondergrond kunnen lopen. De oppervlakken van paden variëren van verhard tot ongelijk natuurlijk terrein. Deelnemers aan een rondleiding moeten een korte afstand kunnen lopen en met minimale assistentie in / uit het tourvoertuig kunnen komen. We raden ten zeerste aan dat gasten die assistentie nodig hebben, vergezeld worden door een metgezel die in staat en volledig verantwoordelijk is voor hulp. . Noch Planet Earth Adventures, noch onze leveranciers kunnen fysiek gasten ophalen of assisteren bij transportvoertuigen of anderszins.

Definitely a good tour to book. We got a full 2hours at the conservation park which you really need to walk the whole place without rushing. We were lucky that a group had cancelled so we had Albert as our "private" tour guide. Such a nice guy & so interesting to talk to. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Stopped along the way and driver gave and pointed a lot of facts about the area and animals. Saw Doll sheep on the rocks and an eagles nest with babies along the way and stopped to photograph. Once at conservation center they drove us through, then dropped us off to explore on our own. Loved seeing the animals up close.

The tour was basically a lot of driving while the guide talked about past experiences and showed us videos of past experiences. We saw a handful of animals at the rescue/conservation center. The guide pretty well excluded us as he was exchanging contacts and information with the other family. P.S. Snacks were mentioned, but not offered. Obviously, we are from out of town and are not familiar with Anchorage. The guide seemed irritated when asked about parking.

Very informative guide. Breathtaking scenic drive. Great first day activity. Bundle up if it’s cool outside.
Very scenic and informative. Nice small group. Wildlife conservation center windy and cold that detracted from experience but can’t help that. Not as many animals as I expected but wide variety. Had time to walk around on our own which was good. Made handful of stops on way to center. Snow capped mountains were beautiful.

Albert was very friendly and gave us a fun tour. He made multiple stops for pictures, and helped us get some great shots of the wildlife. He was very informative and told us a lot about the local area. Everyone had wonderful time on the excursion.
Very reasonable price considering all the transportation, information, and interaction. Our guide was Albert. He was very knowledgeable about the area, history, and wildlife. Wish we had more time at the conservation center but definitely glad we went. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys wildlife, but maybe try and plan for more than 1 hour.
