De meest populaire tour! Rijd je eigen sledehondenteam met een Iditarod-team van mushers, handlers, honden op echte sneeuw in het midden van de zomer, omringd door een geweldig landschap. Begin dit avontuur met een helikoptervlucht over gletsjers. We zien vaak elanden, zwarte beren, Dall schapen en geiten. Land op een gletsjer en geniet van een heel uur met sledehonden en hun mushers die hier de hele zomer leven. Neem het hondenteam mee voor een ritje door echte sneeuw. Je kunt op de lopers gaan staan en een hondenteam vermorzelen of gewoon op de slee gaan zitten en de mushers het team laten runnen. Na je hondensleetocht ontmoet je de hondenatleten die je slee trokken, en natuurlijk maak je foto's met je favoriete honden. Na de tour brengt de helikopter je terug naar de lodge en vlieg je over de lagere gletsjers waar je de blauwe smeltpoelen en de spleten kunt zien. Totale tourtijd : 1,5 uur - inclusief 1 uur met het hondensleeteam (ongeveer 30 min. sleetocht) en ongeveer 30 min. heen- en terugvlucht

Begin dit avontuur met een helikoptervlucht over gletsjers en ijsbergen. We zien vaak elanden, zwarte beren, Dall schapen en geiten. Land op een enorm sneeuwveld hoog op een gletsjer en geniet een heel uur van kampioenssledehonden en hun mushers die hier de hele zomer leven. Neem het hondenteam mee voor een spannende rit door echte sneeuw. Je kunt op de lopers gaan staan en je eigen hondenteam pletten of gewoon op de slee gaan zitten en de mushers het team laten leiden. Na je hondensleetocht ontmoet je de hondenatleten die je slee hebben getrokken, luister naar verhalen over het rennen van sledehondenraces van meer dan 1.000 mijl lang en maak natuurlijk foto's met je favoriete honden. Na de tour brengt de helikopter je terug naar de lodge en vlieg je over de lagere gletsjers waar je de blauwe smeltbaden en de kloven kunt zien.

Great experience! The company, staff and pilot were all great to work with! We had to reschedule our trip several times and they were very accommodating. The views and experience were amazing! Definitely worth doing!
I would totally recommend Alaskan Helicopter Tours 1000% to anyone. We did the dog sledding Glacier experience in Palmer, AK. All the staff, especially Andrea was amazing, the pilots, and all those at the dog sled camp did a fantastic job. The glacier viewing was truly an incredible experience our family will never forget . I’d also recommend to book direct with the company .
Weather forecast could hinder your excursion as well as maintenance of the helicopters. However the Staff was great, very accommodating and able to work around our schedule. This is a perfect trip to go on especially if you ever wanted to sled in Alaska on top of a glacier. Excellent excursion!!

From check in to the final walk up the stairs, the experience was awesome. Smooth check in, a quick safety video, and then getting into the helicopter was fast. The helicopter ride was smooth and the views were out of this world. Such beauty !! We arrived at the dog sleds to so many cute barking dogs... The only thing I didn't like was having to wait 10 mins for the roping of the dogs. This took away from the time with the puppies at the end. The dog sled ride was so much fun!! We sat to ride and got to " help drive " the sled. Overall this tour is well worth the money!!
Most magnificent experience in Alaska!! Helicopter ride through beautiful mountains and glaciers. Landing on the glacier and experiencing the dog sledding was a once in a lifetime experience. Jonah, our musher, was so knowledgeable, friendly and made the experience with the dogs and puppies unforgettable!!

To cap off the trip, I booked a helicopter glacier landing and dog sledding tour with Alaska Helicopter Tours out of Anchorage. From start to finish, it was a world-class operation. Flights depart from Glacier Lodge near Palmer, and the entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Our pilot, Gavin, was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. From the moment we lifted off, I felt completely safe and confident in his hands. He shared fascinating information about the area throughout the flight while making the entire experience enjoyable and unforgettable. Jimmy, the musher for our dog sled ride on the glacier was a dream come true. Simply fascinating and I must have sled the entire circuit with a smile! If a helicopter tour in Alaska isn't already on your travel bucket list, it absolutely should be. Soaring over towering mountains and pristine glaciers, landing on ancient ice, meeting an experienced musher and an enthusiastic team of sled dogs, and taking in the endless, awe-inspiring scenery made this one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. This was an AWESOME day! Unbelievable scenery, lucky to have a bright, sunny day. And the DOGS!!! There were puppies! All staff were exceptionally friendly, competent and efficient. Would recommend to anyone!
